I can no longer eat their pastries because they don't offer gluten-free options and I've developed an allergy but they are delicious! I would recommend coming in the morning when everything is new and fresh. The building could definitely use a nice upgrade, a touch of elbow grease and perhaps some additional staff...the language barrier makes ordering difficult at times, depending on who is working. The milk teas are phenomenal and reasonably priced. Bubble tea is also available. They do special occasion cakes and classic Vietnamese sandwiches.

I love the inside of this place! It's beautiful, quiet, and clean. They have an extensive list of options for boba which is what I came for so I was delighted by that as well.

Carry out joint. Not much atmosphere, but our simple plates were excellent.

My wife and I went there, after reading glaring reviews from another website. I tried many of their items- Vietnamese meatloaf, ham, rice, sandwich, smoothie, coconut bun, and a slice of cake. Sandwich was very good- it had thin slices of pork, with cucumber, cilantro, and flavorful and spicy sauce. Nothing like thick juicy sandwich, but very flavorful and spicy. However, other items were disappointing. coconut bun and rice were bland, and smoothie and cake was way too sweet. We returned the first cake we chose, since it was starting to grow fungus. To be fair, they said they were very sorry, and let me take another cake. They had expiration date on their items, and seemed to have many regulars. (Oh, but the seats were very dirty- at least they had stains all over. They might be still clean, but very dirty looking at least.) If I were to pass by this place, I might stop for their sandwich, but else, I would not necessarily go to this place.

Updated: after 6 years, I’m not sure when, but it seems like they changed the owner. The team is much more friendly, nice food, drinks, and very clean. I’m happy with their service.
They usully have bad attitute in the morning. I ordered a birthday cake 2 days before but they just SLOWLY started writting the name on it in the morning, the lady seemed didn’t know about the cake. I also could not call them, there was no one answered the phone, and I finally was late for my things. This is the second time they do this to me.

Best bang for your bucks! Louisville’s hidden gem! A delicious banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich with Chinese BBQ pork) for only $4.5! I’ve eaten many banh mi, not only in Louisville but also in Florida and California. This place, by far, offers the best and cheapest banh mi. All the restaurants I’ve tried sold banh mi for $8. This place sells for $4.50. You cannot beat that price. 1 banh mi will fill you up. Forget about the sad Subway sandwiches that never look as good in real life as in the commercials. Dalat’s banh mi has very satisfying crunchy crust, with juicy meat and sauce inside.
This place also sells French pastries (as the name ‘gateaux’ indicates). I grew up eating French pastries so American pastries just cannot compare. French pastries are so much more delicate, just right amount of sweetness and melt-in-your-mouth cream. This cafe is the only place selling French pastries that I was able to find. In addition, they also sell several Vietnamese foods, both sweet and savory. I cannot recommend this place enough.
I was really afraid that they might go under because of COVID. It’s a hard time for all small businesses so I try to eat there as often as I can to support them. I used to live close by but have moved away so now it’s a bit of a drive to get there. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find this cafe on any delivery service sites (or maybe it doesn’t show up for me because I live too far away). If I could find this cafe on UberEats or DoorDash, I’d be ordering weekly! Right now, they only do curbside order and pickup. Give them a call to place your order. They will bring food to your car when it’s ready. I’m glad they’re opened but I wish I could go in to browse the pastries. I tend to buy more when I’m surrounded by delicious-looking food.
Please support small, local businesses. If you love this place, support them so they can survive this pandemic. If you have never eaten here, you are missing out. This is a true hidden gem of Louisville.

Great pastries here. Lunch is limited, but the Vietnamese sandwich is amazing and it's only 4 bucks. The Vietnamese iced coffee is amazing too. Big variety of drinks that kids will love too.

Honestly I wish I saw this place before covid. It definitely looks very rundown but the banh mi is some of the best I've had since I've come to KY. I used to live in Falls Church, VA next to Eden center which is considered a vietnamese haven and this is comparable to it in price and in quality. Most other places I've been to around here try to charge me 7$ or more but not here.
