I love Bean!
The coffee is so good (I really love their miel) and the bagels are phenomenal (melted brie and veggies? Hell ya)

Edit: They are wheelchair/walker accessible, yay! This is a really delightful coffee shop. I had a cold brew and the melted brie bagel sandwich, and it was all so good. I love the aesthetic and character of the shop, especially the back room where you can stare out the giant glass garage door. Outlets are abundant. More comfortable couches/chairs would be nice, but that wasn't an issue when it was minimally crowded. Also, one of the baristas told me "later, gator!" as I was leaving, which was possibly the most charming thing a restaurant worker has ever told me. It's across the street from The Pearl and just a block or two away from Kroger, Eiderdown, Four Pegs, etc. Definitely give Bean a try if you want a good bagel sandwich or need a retro Louisville hangout to get some work done.

Decent. This is my first time being here. The staff is somewhere friendly. My miel is mediocre. The "tall" drinks are the size of mediums at most shops (for $5.50 + tip I want a large drink). The seating is... interesting. The atmosphere is busy to the point where it's distracting.
Not a bad shop, but I regret coming here. I expected more after reading the reviews.

Filled w sadness and lost I write this review… I once LOVED this place!!!
However.. the staff is sooooo fearful and confused because they all watch CNN and MSN all day. I HAVE A NEGATIVE COVID TEST w me - just took it on Clark’s Ln. And Bean DENIED service to me (a regular). “Because I don’t have/won’t wear a mask.”
The only way to get over this is so stop feeding into fear. And this place wants to reject their loyal customers because of their slighted view of the world.
I will likely NEVER return. Shame on you Bean for DENYING SERVICE to a once loyal customer.
Plus - there were like 6 people behind the counter crawling all over each other, and literally no one upfront in that area. It’s not about them getting sick, it’s about their treatment of a regular. I’m sad they are so scared.
FREEDOM WEARS NO MASK.
COVID may bully this establishment, but this establishment will NOT bully me.
Good luck

This place is a jewel. Very quaint and personal. The employees very friendly and the service awesome. The coffee and food fabulous. I will add this place to my go to list of cafe's 😊

I've just recently discovered this place and the food and coffee are both amazing. I went in for the second time today and everything I purchased was awesome. I was a little put off by the girl who rang up my order however. I understand everyone is trying to maintain a certain level of sanitation but it's very off putting to have the cashier tell me "she'll be my hands" when I'm deciding what to tip. Most places I've been into are spraying rubbing alcohol onto their credit card machines after each use. Instead the girl essentially asked me what button I intended to push so she could do it for me. I understand these are trying times but this is the only business where I've had this type of experience experience and frankly they got a lower tip because of it. I gave the highest amount available without doing a custom tip but I didnt feel comfortable doing a custom tip without putting it in myself. I hope they address this practice because I really like this coffee shop and intend to return but if I can't put the tips in myself, the workers tips won't be as high as what I've been giving at other businesses in town.

This is the coffee shop I've been looking for since the first wave coffee craze swept through in the 90s and left us with chain coffee shops on every corner. This is no Starbucks (thank god). This is a shop devoted to making good coffee, starting with the roasting. The bright, uncluttered space is perfect on a sunny or rainy day. If you're hungry, there's a nice little selection of bagels, pastries, sandwiches and salads.

I am grateful for a cozy space such as Bean. Staff is always friendly and the tea is swell. Coffee, too. I just do not drink joe. Bean offers delicious treats and food. You can even grab vintage clothing off a rack from employees! The space has plenty of natural lighting and tall ceilings for breath. You will sell local artist and occasional galleries, too!
Bean is a coffee shop that a good deal of folks in the East End should visit more. It isn't just your neighborhood coffee shop but a phenomenal place to work in an inspiring/uplifting atmosphere.
Always worth passing fifty Heine Bros to get here!!

Decent drinks and nice staff but it's definitely not meant to be a study spot. Very much a loud college kid kind of atmosphere.

I travel to this coffee shop at least once a week I'm moving to the Pacific Northwest and I'm going to be really sad to leave it behind. With a calm atmosphere, great coffee, and great company there is nothing to lose. I am a wastefree vegan and they offer real cups and plates. Seriously, give them a try. I even take my parrot with me, just an overall fantastic place
