Pretty good food
The Italian beef is not exactly what you expect but VERY VERY good.
The Reuben very tasty and nicely grilled.
The Taylor ham sandwich very good a lil salty, but hey that's Taylor ham.
The pan cooked potatoes not browned enough and too heavy on black pepper.
The pizza is a unique sauce and nice crisp Crust. Not bad at all!

I’m giving this review 3 stars because I know that they can do way better job! . If I had written it a couple of weeks ago when I had first gone with my husband it would have been 5 stars. If today would have been the first time I came in it would have gotten 1 star only because you can’t give 0 stars on a review.

The first time my husband and I went to The Hive we were impressed by the food. I ordered the meatball sub and he ordered their biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was a huge (it took up the entire bowl and the gravy was outstanding, one of the best places around. Trying to get a good biscuit & gravy around here is hard. Today I went and was so excited to order biscuit and gravy (because my husband’s was delicious) to go and was sorely disappointed when I got back to my office and saw that the biscuit was extremely small in size compared to the one my husband had, It was almost burnt and tasted like under cooked dough. It went into the trash right after I took the picture.

Made a pit stop at The Hive on our travels. The building is old and adorable. They are also a new business, opening April 2022 I believe. Immediately when you go inside, you get hit with the smell of old, stuffy house and kind of like gas (it doesn't smell too much like brunch), which gave me a headache. It would be nice if they opened some windows on this beautiful summer day. There are two floors, the upstairs being a coffee shop/bakery. This was my favorite part! Cute decorations and friendly, helpful workers. We waited up here about 10 minutes for a table, which I thought was great! Then we went back down to the stuffy first floor. Again, many cute decorations but the space is very tight. They make the most of the space given. The food had no bells and whistles, what is on the menu is exactly what you get. A little more expensive than your typical family diner. Our waiter was hospitable to everyone, but held long conversations with a few tables, which left us waiting a long time. He did offer two bakery items for our long wait. It seemed like a family owned business, with many young kids working too. I would recommend stopping if you are in the area and looking for fancy brunch.

Such a great place. The inside gives a small modern coffee shop type of atmosphere that’s appealing to the eyes. The food was great, especially the Bourbon Spiked French Toast, highly recommend. Waitress was stellar and had a wonderful time for brunch visiting from out of state.

The atmosphere was beautiful and the staff was super nice. I was expecting to just walk in and walk out with a coffee, but was prompted to sit down and order. I ordered a lavender mocha, which could have used more flavor, but was still good. I liked that there was a variety of options, including GF and milk alternatives, but it was not stated that it was additional charge. The bacon was good, but the scone I had was cold and crumbly.

I had an excellent experience. We were sat down right away. The atmosphere is very fun, fresh, and welcoming with a open style floor plan. The decor is very tasteful and well themed.
The regular drip coffee was very good and the food was delivered to our table hot and fast. The sign out front said east coast kitchen and that really came through on the dish I ordered. I had the Goetta + Homemade Biscuit + Gravy and it was fantastic. The biscuits would give my grandma a run for her money, and that is saying something. It was a taste of the southeast but most importantly it was a taste specific to the Queen City due to the goetta. Overall it was a fantastic experience, I can’t wait to share this experience with others.

We loved it great food, great coffee and great service. We loved the brick walls and the beehive decor it was beautifully decorated! We were very impressed with our wait we went upstairs and had lattes while we waited for our table. We will definitely be back

I love that they use carabello beans for their coffee. However, I’ve been twice and haven’t been impressed with the food. The first time I ordered the breakfast bowl and was disappointed :( Small portion (similar to a frozen jimmy dean bowl) and barely warm. I have gone back since and for the yogurt parfait, which was much better. Maybe I’m just ordering the wrong things!!

Haters gotta get a life. Not sure why people feel inclined to diss on this quaint little business. The food prices are reasonable and the service is great. It’s a cool location and the owners have done a nice job with the decor. The food is good, especially at breakfast. They aren’t trying to be The Cheesecake Factory and reviewers need to stop holding them to the same measuring sticks. Small business owner who’s making some innovative food and deserves your patronage.

What a sweet place! Beautifully decorated. Home style cooking with a little something extra. My husband had the bourbon soaked French toast. Wow! I have the full plate with goetta and a fresh baked biscuit with honey. Delicious! Certainly worth taking the time to find. Can’t wait till next time.
