The Ugly Mug Coffee House

My family recently moved to the area and my husband and I are AVID coffee drinkers. Actually met at a coffee shop. I have never met a more kind staff, excellent coffee with unique flavor choices, and a great feel of home town love. I will be returning often and for as long as the shop is open. Wonderful!

The lattee was great but the iced coffee with salted carmel was un-drinkable it tasted as if a salt Shaker was opened and poured directly into the drink. Just my opinion.

I love the ugly mug and I love Taryn she makes incredible coffees and teas the vibes are unmatched the ugly mug is such a lovely spot I wish I could gatekeep it forever and honestly I just might.

I would EASILY pay $10 per cup of coffee at this place! You can’t beat a family owned, small town coffee shop that puts Starbucks to shame. Plus, the owner’s kindness and creativity is just the whipped cream and cinnamon topping to my latte! 10000 star rating.

Stopped by on our way though the area, just on a whim. Turned out great - workers were nice, atmosphere was great. Good selection of tea along with the usual coffee drinks, which is something many coffee shops don't have. Looking forward to stopping by again sometime!

I was in town for work yesterday and so glad I stopped in!
The two girls working were very kind and helpful when it came to trying to make my mind up about what to order. The shop itself is very aesthetically pleasing as well as very clean.
With as large and customizable as the menu is — there’s got to be something for everyone here.
I can’t remember what my drink was called exactly but was made well, tasted very good, and was super cold — exactly what I wanted on a blazing hot day like yesterday. Sometimes shops don’t put enough milk product in there and the drink is too bitter.
The next time I’m in town, I’m stopping by again, can’t wait. Thank you all for a great experience.

Amazing coffee, muffins & atmosphere. So many flavors to choose from that it’s almost overwhelming but the lady working gave us recommendations that were sooo good. So cute for little dates or to do homework!

I think what I like best is the decor. A mix of vintage everything! Coffee is great. Nice atmosphere. The owner is very nice. Can't wait to go again. The coffee drinks are great and there's a huge selection!

Delicious coffee and so many unique flavor combinations! There were probably at least 15 items just under the fall drinks category. The only downside was that they were out of a lot of syrups when we went so some items were unavailable (edit: totally not their fault, everyone is dealing with supply chain issues atm), but the barista made good recommendations based on what they had in stock. This was a great way to kickstart our morning on the way to Cumberland Gap.
