Corner Bakery Cafe: A Casual Cafe Chain with Standard Menu
Corner Bakery Cafe is a casual cafe chain that offers a standard menu of sandwiches, pasta, pastries, and more. Located at 6721 W 135th St, Overland Park, KS, this cafe is a popular spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner. The cafe is open seven days a week, with different hours of operation each day. On weekdays, the cafe opens at 7:00 am and closes at 8:00 pm, while on weekends, it opens at 8:00 am and closes at 8:00 pm.
The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu is extensive, and there are plenty of options for everyone, including vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions. The cafe offers a pick-two option, which allows customers to choose two items from a selection of soups, salads, and sandwiches. The meatball panini is a popular choice among customers, and the harvest salad and chicken Rosa pasta are also highly recommended.
The cafe also offers bakery items, including croissants, bundt cakes, and lemon bars. While some customers find the bakery items to be less tasty than expected, others enjoy them. The cafe's coffee is not the best, according to some customers, and needs to be stronger.
Overall, Corner Bakery Cafe is a decent spot for a quick and casual meal. The prices are a bit on the expensive side for a bakery-style place, according to some customers, but the food is generally good, and the service is friendly.

I always order the Pick 2. It has just the right portions of a salad and soup.

Dishes at Corner Bakery are always good, but the staff at this restaurant were really kind and helpful when we accidentally ordered a spicy dish for a child that doesn't appreciate spice. Awesome folks here.

I literally haven't even ordered food *yet* but the staff here is so nice. Someone (guessing the manager) came outside to check to see how I'm doing and the staff have been so kind. I appreciate that big time. Just wanted to say thanks!!

Saturday morning didn't seem too busy, but multiple errors on our order were blamed on being extremely busy. Our server was friendly and did what she could to correct the order, but two reorders and it still wasn't correct. We went for the $6.99 special, but order wasn't charged correctly, so we didn't get the special pricing.

This location is always wonderful (not so much at the 119th & Nall). I typically eat here no less than 3 times a month, and its a fave place to take my daughter. It's always fresh, fast and delicious food. The manager, Ben H., is always super attentive to what's going on & is super nice... the food has never had a major error and the menu changes just enough each season to offer new choices. I highly recommend this location.

I can no longer recommend this franchise.
Food is not prepared properly at least 90% of the time and their management team is rude.
On 22-Mar-2022, I dined in and ordered the choose two: a Chicken Pomodori panini and the mac and cheese. I also ordered a cinnamon crumb muffin.
The panini was made incorrectly (see menu description screen print). No tomato, no spinach, one piece of basil, and next to no chicken on the sandwich. The mac and cheese had red pepper flakes poured all over the top of it which has never been the case in the past, and the menu does not indicate the breadcrumbs have red pepper flakes mixed in them or that that menu item is spicy (see menu description screen print). Uneatable. The cinnamon crumb muffin was dried out.
When I complained, a manager came to my table and argued with me saying the mac and cheese had always been made that way. Um, no. My gall bladder is sensitive to spicy food and has been for years. Again, the menu does not indicate the item is spicy and at no time in the past was it prepared this way. She argued with me despite advising her I had been eating there for well over 5 years and the item had never been prepared this way in the past. When I told her I didn't plan on coming back in the future, she walked away from my table and gave me a thumbs-up, implying she liked that I'm not coming back. Seriously. . .
I talked to their district manager on duty, John Westermajer, and there was no apology for his manager's behavior. I only knew to ask for him because I had complained to him two years back when we had repeated problems at this location, including unresolved billing disputes. Instead, he tried to make me feel like I misinterpreted her behavior, yet he wasn't even there and didn't even know which manager I was referring to.

I had the broccoli cheese soup and it was horrible. Luke warm and tasted like canned soup. Over priced also. I've always had good food there before, very disappointing. Doubt I will eat there again.

More like Corner Fakery...why be in the service industry when you are so bad at service?

I ordered breakfast on Doordash and when the food arrived it was disgusting. The egg bowl tasted like it was sitting there overnight, the toast was burnt (literally black). The only good thing was the bacon which was placed on a separate foil. I don't think I will be ordering from here again.

Corner Street Bakery is wonderful. The quality of the sandwiches is worth the price and the bite size desserts are great. We typically use Corner Bakery for lunch catering orders and they always go above and beyond. They are also very friendly. However, sometimes they can be a little later than expected with delivery. Overall, we will definitely continue to use them!
