Z's Divine Espresso & Coffee Shop

Coffee is good but service is getting worse. I understand we are in a pandemic and being safe is important. However, you are open for business but service makes it hard to get coffee. The last several times the girl at the window opens it just enough to barely slide your cup out of the window which makes it extremely hard to grab from our car. She stands behind the slightly opened window and you can’t hear anything she says. Same thing with trying to pay, card reader is held out at the window and when trying to use your rewards it’s not taken until you hand it inside the window because she doesn’t want to work the window in a respectable fashion. This has happened several times to me, my wife, and friends that go there. We have actually stopped making this our daily coffee stop because it’s so frustrating! It’s not just frustrating, it’s bad customer service.

Rudest drive through experience I've ever had and it's happened on more than one occasion at this location. Do not like my coffee being thrust at me from behind a closed window. If you have someone working the drive through who is that afraid of public interaction, you should probably find her a different position better suited for her skills.

I love studying here. The coffee and baked goods are wonderful. As long as this place remains open and I remain a Lawrence resident, I will continue to go here.
With that being said, there are two things that I think could benefit the Z's Coffee Shop on 31st St.:

1. If they extended their hours later in the evening. I think Z's gets enough traffic on the weekend that it would be intelligent if they closed later, preferably closing around 7pm. Most of the students I know use their weekends studying throughout the day. Since Z's closes so early on the weekends, I usually decide not to study there during those days. I have friends who also agree to this complaint.

2. If they had at least two workers per shift on the weekends. The only reason I'm making this suggestion is because I've seen a couple employees have mini mental break downs near the end of their shifts. I'm not sure if this is from poor management or if this is from them getting overwhelmed when a rush occurs, but I always feel bad to witness the employees stressed. They've always provided great service to me, no matter what time of day I come in.

I needed some glass work done on my car while waiting I walked over to Zs, I've seen them listed on Google before for coffee but I never had the chance to go! Definitely glad I went today. I got the "Stairway to Heaven" white chocolate mocha with blackberry-- super tasty and not too sweet. I'll be sure to come back! And to bring my friends.

Coming from Seattle, I am very picky about my coffee. Usually I settle for burnt Starbucks espresso because I prefer that over watery drip from most local joints but Z's Divine completely blew me away. Their coffee actually tastes rich and full-bodied. I think I even read on their website that they use organic beans (amazing!). This is definitely my favorite spot in Lawrence and love that they have a drive thru!

Z's is one of my favorite coffee shops in town. This location is perfect for studying, writing, or getting together with a friend or date.

They made an excellent (and beautiful) latte among many other beverages. Great service. I love this place.

The staff clearly have no idea how to prioritize their drinks between the drive through and the indoor customers. We ordered two lattes, then five vehicles came through and completed their order cycles and received their drinks. At this point I asked the staff what the holdup was and our drinks hadn't even been processed. They didn't even know we had ordered anything. Two more vehicles came by and had their order filled before we got our drinks, and they weren't even made correctly. We're deeply disappointed in our experience here because we so enjoy their downtown location.

the lady was at least somewhat nice the gentleman working behind the counter was rude and treated his coworker rude no thank. no have a good day. bother his customer service skills are terrible. Should have read the reviews before visiting. there customer service is probably the reason they are slow and it definitely shows.

This place has great coffee and quick service. I usually just go through the drive though but of the few times I have been inside it's very quite and a perfect place to study. Their prices are a bit on the higher side but they do offer punch card rewards that make it worth it.
