Hidden gem!
The appearance from the outside is unassuming but inside is a magical land of baked goods and coffee!
Fast and friendly service. Fun to see everyone working.

I had just a simple croissant. Though it may seem simple the taste, texture, and flavor were exquisite. Excellent service with a smile as well! I reccomend this place to others.

This place is a treasure. Lawrence is so lucky to have a world class bakery in such a small town. One of the best bakeries in the country. Perfect crunchy flavorful crusts and soft spongey interiors. The building is modest- they just focus on pushing out the highest quality bread. To die for.

My coffee was strong, and my pain au chocolat was fantastic, as was my wife's lemon cream croissant. The cinnamon thing I got my son was okay, but not as good as a proper cinnamon roll.

I would definitely come back if I'm in Lawrence again.

I’m glad that I live on the West Side of Lawrence, because I would weigh 300#. I’m an older lady and the owner and the cashier was soo friendly. They even listened to my 1865 sourdough starter stories, that I still bake. I will definitely be back!! Thank you for keeping sourdough alive!!

Maybe the best breakfast sandwich (when it’s not sold out) but wow the staff need some customer service training. It always feels like I’m doing something wrong and our friends we brought with us last time felt the same way.

Great bread, decent espresso. We loved their freshly baked bread and pastries. The outside sitting space is nice, and the espresso is quite decent (aside of a place in Indianapolis, probably our favorite on our trip from the Rockies to NY!).

This place is incredible. Their bread is top notch, if I could eat a loaf a week and not gain weight I would! Authentic, rustic style and so truly delicious that words don’t do their baking justice. I wish I had have discovered 1900 Barker earlier so I could have been enjoying their treats for longer! Also, fantastic setup during COVID times. So easy to order online, entirely contact free pickup - safe for both staff and customers, thank you for keeping our community safe!

We had a really fantastic chocolate croissant and raspberry danish. The cappuccino was also solid (saf, you might say). They were not serving their sandwiches, but the next time we travel through Kansas we will make any detour necessary to come back and try them.

Really friendly and helpful staff as well.

If you need your espresso and baked goods fix in Kansas, this is the spot.

I wanted to walk away with absolutely every single item… but didn’t 😩 I was able to try their ham and cheese croissant (best I’ve ever had especially warmed up) and a chocolate Nutella cookie. This place is a gem! Wish I lived closer!
