Brightside Cafe

I’ve never been to Sioux City before but where I go I always try to find some down to earth breakfast place and today I’m pretty sure that I found exactly what I’ve been looking for my whole life. My phone was dead or I’d take pictures but as soon as you walk into this place you feel warm and genuinely welcome. The walls are covered with positive statements and usually when you see stuff like that it seems really fake but today it felt honest and sincere. They’ve also got a great program where you can help those that need a meal. Usually I don’t like that “pay it forward” thing because the places that do that all you end up doing is buying something for the person behind you that is already there and can afford to pay. The world needs more places like this. The food was good and it really fit the mood. I wish these people and their goal decades of success and love.

Brightside cafe has been an all time favorite for my family and I whether it's the Sunday brunch Buffett or just grabbing a quick bite brightside is our top pick in Siouxland. They are getting all 5 stars because I had one complaint about an experience I had and messaged them on Facebook about it and they immediately made it right by reimbursing my whole meal charge and it allowed me to come back on a really awesome date with my wife for free! Great servers, and a great owner. 💯

They were so kind and it was the best customer service I’ve encountered specifally in downtown Sioux City. I ordered the chicken strip basket and it was absolutely delicious

Quaint little downtown restaurant, the food we got was good. The service was slower than molasses, and it wasn't even busy. I think there were maybe 2 other tables that had people sitting. The servers were all at the front standing around talking to each other, so don't be in a hurry. When we asked if someone was going to wait on us, they just looked at us like we interrupted them. When we were finished, we could have just walked out and they would never had noticed, but we had to hunt someone down to get our bill. The food is good, but if you are looking for service, go somewhere else.

I would give 5 stars but as my order was a take out, they didn’t give us the chips we ordered, and was charged for… I called, and wasn’t told anything but sorry. The patty melt sandwich is, so far, the best I’ve ever had. Very good size meat Patty and very tasty

The place was super busy. The waitress was very attentive. I loved the sayings on the wall and the opportunity to pay it forward!

Any words I use here would not do the place justice. There are no wrong answers on the menu when undecided on what to choose and the staff is wonderful and friendly.

Great food and atmosphere aside, my main love is the prepay meal deal where you can buy a dish for a future patron. That, to me, speaks volumes of the owners, the staff, and the awesome culture they present.

Food and service was good but drinks are way over priced

I honestly don’t even know where to start with this place. Everything about this place was amazing! Everything from the atmosphere, service, cleanliness, and most importantly, the food! Went twice in one week for some breakfast and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. If you’re a local this is definitely a place you want to check out.

Soup and salad bar had a nice variety. Three soups made fresh daily. Wait staff very friendly and willing to give us time to decide on our order.
