Outstanding little place with a terrific Sunday breakfast buffet

Had lunch today at the windmill cafe. What a fantastic experience! Our server Tyler was so welcoming and treated us like family! I also made a special request from an old menu and they happily made it for me. If you are in Pella, Iowa, stop at the windmill cafe!

Philly steak sandwich was really good. Staff super friendly, always checking on us. A ton of choices for dessert. Highly recommended to stop in.

Great food and terrific service! We had breakfast and it did not disappoint. Looking forward to going back for lunch someday soon.

We had a breakfast yesterday with a good customer here. The service is excellent. The coffee is delicious and my cup was never below half full. The restaurant is clean and tidy. The menu has a lot of tempting choices, but i am hooked on omlettes so I tried one of these. The Mexican was very tasty. Really, really liked this place.

Will never go here again. We went to eat lunch and the day was Sunday. Didnt know about Sundays being a buffet. We looked at the buffet and it didnt look good at all. Food piled high and no doubt cold. So we drank our coffee and hot choc and paid and left. The manager came out accusing us of not paying. We were so shocked of being accused of this. We are in our 60,s and were made to feel like criminals. All she had to do was asked the child we gave our money to , to see we paid. The waitress was the one accusing us as well. Is what made the manager come out and accuse us of not paying. She came to our table to take our drinks, than once more we thought to get our order. We said we didnt have menus and she said it was buffet. Than never came back to our table. And when my husband paid for our order they didnt even have the exact change to give back to him. The food there is awful now since those new people took over. So miss the other owners. Food than was so good hot and fresh. What an awful experience for us to go through just wanting a meal.

The service here is amazing! Our server was very polite and the food came out hot and fast. He made sure to check up on us frequently. I will be coming here again!!

Quaint & busy as all get out. Staff was pleasant & quite efficient, all things considered. I'd go back again. The food was good, too.
