Absolutely the best coffee/cafe in town. Great food. Relaxing atmosphere. Love this place.

Just amazing over all. We’ll be back.

Pretty average breakfast. Biggest possitive is location if you find youself downtown, biggest negative is the self serve pump thermos coffee.

My first time here. I had a great hot sandwich and chips. The highlight of the trip was the tea. The space is well arranged. Plenty of seating, in an L shaped configuration around the kitchen so it seems cosy. There are some high-top tables as well as standard seating. You order at the counter, but the food is delivered to the tables. The staff were great. I understand the breakfasts are wonderful and I'll have to go back to get some. They do serve breakfast items all day. So, back to the tea... I had the coco mint green tea iced. It was worth the price of admission! They have a great variety of teas and they will ask how you want yours sweetened (honey, sugar, not...). They will serve it hot or iced. This place is definitely worth visiting again. I look forward to trying all their specialties! Check the hours because they are only open till 3pm but not on Sunday.

We enjoy ordering from The Encounter for office catering. The Manager, Ray, and Kitchen Manager, Aaron, are both excellent to work with! They are always more than accommodating, reliable and the food is outstanding.
My personal favorite is the Encounter Special Panini & fresh fruit cup - I swear they must pick the fruit fresh each day!?

Love this Cafe, food delicious, service great! So why only 2 stars? Employees not wearing masks despite rising cases of infections, hospitalizations, and deaths from covid 19 and the Mayor and City Council issuing a mask mandate for ALL public indoor places! I respect that they have a right to decide whether or not to wear masks in their personal lives, but when doing business in a city I believe they have a responsibility to follow city law, ordinances and mandates! I will miss their cinnamon rolls (the best) but I'm not interested in a side of covid!

I was pleased to visit the newly expanded café, it appears to have more than doubled in size. Before this the restaurant was so popular that it was difficult to get a table at lunch, now it has better space. A modern restaurant run by Mennonite charities and largely staffed by Mennonite women, offers high-quality breakfast an lunch items. Despite its origins, this is more of an upscale urban eatery than home-style cooking. Omelettes and panini are especially good. Coffee is okay, great choice of teas, no pop except root beer. Order at counter, food is brought to you.

I stopped here for a quick breakfast before dropping my son off at college. I loved the selection of pastries and breakfast entrees. I chose the byo yogurt parfait and won't even knock off a star for including slivered almonds instead of the advertised 'sliced almonds'. I'm assuming they ran out. My muffin was perfectly spongy and sweet and the coffee was strong and hot. Parking is metered on the street which is normally a deterrent because I don't carry change but there are multiple ways to pay, including a credit card at the meter! I'm not in town frequently but this is on my short list for a quick coffee and pastry.

This place will take your taste buds on a joy ride! The staff is ridiculously kind and caring. They go the extra mile for you. The place is clean and comfortable. The coffee is amazing and the artwork is top. I go to this place at least once a month, if not more!
