I'm so glad I was introduced to this place! I love the Latin x American breakfast fusion. These aren't just Latin American breakfast dishes, they're American breakfast concepts with a Latin twist. The coffee was SO, SO GOOD! And the food was phenomenal! The design of the place is also very shabby chic. Lots of photo opportunities here! Service was on point and they let me know when they were out of something I was thinking of getting. Plenty of seating for a small place, though you might sit next to some strangers. Great opportunity to make new friends! š

Yummy! Food and beverages were delicious! I love their specialty Mexican coffee drinks. I had the Tijuana skillett, which is a spicy egg dish. Did not disappoint! I also had to try the lemon blueberry pancakes. Great flavor combination! I've attached some pictures. Forgive the bites I'd already taken out of them. ;)
I would also like to say that I like the way they have the place decorated. Very pretty! Wait service was also wonderful!
The things I would change are probably harder to change. Booths are small and uncomfortable, even just for 4 people. Also, it's very noisy in there, but I'm not totally sure why.. They were playing music, but everything was just loud and echoey. Another kind of strange thing is that the floors are very slippery, not sure if its due to wax? I was wearing flat sandals, but still had to be super careful not to fall.

Been three times. Really good food. Great service. Just last week i was there and they were super busy and there was only one waitress.. The waitress never got stressed or rude. I ended up leaving her a 26.00 tip. Hope it let her know she was appreciated. Had to go in today and do some work on my laptop due to an emergency, they didn't mind me using the wifi while I ate and worked. Definitely Will be going back.

La Casita Breakfast Cafe - Saw an Eggs Benedict a few weeks ago on their FB page and they said they house make their hollandaise, so I knew I needed it!
Unfortunately, the picture from the post was just a special, so I had to try out something else. I went with the āAvo Cali Beneā and a couple pancakes. Kimmy got the āBrekkie Chimiā with chorizo.
My Benedict was really good, the hollandaise was on point! It had avocado and bacon. For the poached eggs, one was absolutely perfect, the other was slightly overcooked, so I lost out on yolk on my Bene! I would have preferred a more toasted English muffin. VERY minor things compared to just how good the dish tasted.
The pancakes were unreal, 100% the best Iāve had in Cedar Rapids, and top 5 Iāve ever eaten! I normally order a side of pancakes to kinda judge a breakfast joint, and so glad I did. It almost had a birthday cake like flavor and my goodness did it ever work.
Kimmyās chimi was done perfectly, cheese sauce was delicious, and the chorizo was perfectly spiced. The shell was nice and crispy. Quite good.
Overall, highly recommend checking it out. Very good meal and great service!

Disappointing. Apparently they raised their prices, but did not post that anywhere in the restaurant, or on the menu. When I received the bill and asked the waitress, she knew of the change, but seemed surprised it wasnāt on the menu. This is unprofessional at best, and dishonest at worst. I was surprised the issue was not resolved after I identified it. Charging me above the menu price and sticking to your guns just isnāt right. While the 12% price increase only amounted to $1.61 in my case, itās the principle that is at issue, plus a lack of transparency, or willingness to resolve their mistake. I canāt recommend going here because of this.
The cafe was pleasant with adequate seating, and a warm decor. The food was plentiful and fresh. I had one of the skillets which was good. The waitress and other staff were friendly and attentive.
Add up front and honest pricing, and a system to resolve problems with customers, and this would be a 5 star review.

Such a cute place. Food was good. Service was great. Not too busy when we went, sat right down. Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu!

Great service. Very small location so plan accordingly. Pictures below are the chorizo breakfast chimi and churro pancakes. Everything was fantastic, new favorite breakfast place in town.

Waitress is new so she put in double bacon and double toast on my tres order. Thats fine and all but my eggs were not over easy. They were over cooked and the hashbrowns had very little brown. Overall not impressed with food.
The interior is very pretty compared to previously but we aren't coming back. We hoped it would be authentic food but it's not.

Kristi Young Allen and I decided to try one of the areas newest breakfast cafe offerings this morning. I'm pleased to say that La Casita Breakfast Cafe did not disappoint, but exceeded our expectations in every way. This is nothing like the old Riley's. The atmosphere is bright and welcoming as are the staff. The service was far above average and exceptionally friendly. The menu while not too large, was full of great options from traditional to Mexican themed. We chose to try some of the Mexican themed dishes. Kristi had breakfast tacos which were beautifully presented and tasted fabulous. I chose the brekkie chimi, choosing one with chorizo and one with bacon. The chorizo was my favorite although both were good. If you haven't been here yet, I encourage you to come check it out. It's a great addition to our community.
