Maxwell's Beach Cafe

Great restaurant with good customer service! We love dining here when friends and family come to visit! Food is top notch and the Italian Nachos are my favorite!

My husband and I have been coming to Maxwell’s for years, and it’s always been one of our favorites. Unfortunately, last evening we did not have the same experience that we’ve had in the past.

The food was good, but the service was lousy! Our server had a bad attitude and ran around the restaurant like he was overwhelmed, but was the only server that seemed this way, and it was not overly busy.

Upon ordering drinks I ordered a apple juice for my son who was away from the table, and the server responded rudely “I don’t know who was sitting there! Do you want a large or what?!” I don’t know many adults that order apple juice to drink and there was clearly toys and children’s menu on the table!

I told the server prior to ordering that we were out celebrating my parents wedding anniversary and wanted to make it a special night. He responded with just “okay!”

Throughout the meal our drinks were never refilled so we had to drink water instead of our ordered drinks.

He never went over a dessert menu and never even offered us dessert! Not once did anyone ask (I saw both owners at the restaurant) how our meal was. You can’t charge Fleming’s Steakhouse prices and not have the service to go with it!

We are newbies to lakes area and been trying diff places this place was great I had prime rib king cut wife and had a beef wellington her first time ever ordering one not her cup of tea our server was point on forgot her name the owner was working and wife and kids came by to say hi i think ,while we there waiting to be seated.We will b back next summer since I've heard ghost town up here in winter .

Really great location right next to the park and the water... Italian Nachos here are very good and drinks are as well. Food overall is good but isn't necessarily great.

I haven’t actually ever been but my friend who is pretty cool works there so it is obviously a wonderful place and you should go and if you do go then you should give a really big tip to a girl named Brooklynn. She serves food and is the hardest working person I know! The trip will be worth and they won’t let you down!🌊🏄🏻‍♀️(you should also tell her to come back home because I haven’t seen her in a long time!)

We visit Arnold's Park every year as a family, and we ALWAYS eat at Maxwell's Beach Cafe! I am gluten free with a severe allergy - they have plenty of options and I have never had a reaction. The fare is fantastic and reasonable priced. We have tried all kinds of things - burgers, Wagyu beef burgers, salmon Caesar salad, fish tacos, wraps. Every meal has tasted wonderful and the presentation is great! Always friendly service. And its a plus that it's right in the Park.

Warm hearted people with welcoming smiles. Pleasant atmosphere that is complimented by excellent service. The seafood selections such as the lobsters were amazing.
Chicken breast were tender and sweet.
Fine selection of wine and a satisfactory closure with a slice of cake.
Compliments to the Chefs and kitchen staff.

This was our first time here. It is a fun, busy, shaded patio with a view of the lake and great people-watching.
We loved the coconut shrimp and the shrimp pasta (both feature really large shrimp) and the lobster bisque. The baked Brie was yummy and accompanied by a nice variety of fruit as well as the usual crackers. Everything else was good, however, those four dishes were outstanding. Our server did a nice job, especially considering how busy it was.
And, the patio is dog-friendly!
We will be back.

After attending Rock the Roof with Mogen's Heroes and Surfin' Safari, a large group of us went to Maxwell's for a little something to eat before we went home. The hostess was very good to make sure we would be seated. The servers were excellent, always there to provide whatever we needed/wanted, always with a smile. The atmosphere is beautiful. We had desserts and coffee. We would definitely go back!

Horrible ! Do not recommend eating here ! Took our family of 4 to what we thought was " a cafe" like they advertise. To our shock it was not. It is an overpriced, and lousy food quality type of place. Filed a complaint about our order with the management who also was rude, and finally just paid the bill to keep from causing a scene. The shrimp cocktail was nasty with a sour taste, my new York strip was the worst I have EVER seen to include 3/4 of it being gristle and coming out raw when i asked for it to be cooked medium.. There are so many other things i could say but will keep it short. I hope that everyone will read this comment and don't waste your time. Only leaving one star because thats the minimum allowed.
