Concannon's Bakery Cafe

Overall I love this place. Clean and very cute inside. I don't like the donuts too much but the cakes are delicious! Also very clustered with tables and product. I'm not sure how someone in a wheelchair would do in here.

I have always loved Concannon's and never had an issue with their quality food or customer service. We haven't visited much since the beginning of the pandemic and have just started to get back to buying donuts on occasion. Since we have returned I have noticed the customer service quality has dropped significantly... it is no longer the welcoming place it used to be. Unfortunately today has marked the last time we will be in to support the longtime local business. My Sister and I went in this afternoon to inquire about reserving tables for a bridal shower brunch 3 weeks out and even though we have reserved in the past were told (after we had to request a manager) they do not allow reserved tables any longer. Mind you... they no longer serve food other than the bakery items you can purchase at the bakery counter and a limited coffee and drink menu so their table area is usually empty. We said okay, well... we will take our chances and could we order a cake? The same manager said yes but since it is three weeks away they would only be able to decorate a cake with balloons or maybe flowers because their only cake decorator is on vacation and will not be back until after our get together date. I was thinking "this is Concannon's Bakery right??". We have always bought our special occasion cakes and desserts without issue from this bakery and shared their name with all of our friends and family from out of town. It was almost like the manager was trying to tell us don't come here... we don't want your business. So therefore, we took our business to another local business called Made in Muncie. They were so happy to accommodate us and were as surprised as we were to hear about the customer service at Concannon's. Not sure what has changed... the bakery was not busy as there were only a total of 5 customers in the whole building. They seemed to have an abundance of employees standing around... maybe she was just having a bad day. I do know she won't have to worry about having 15 women from out of town buying pastries, eating cake, and ordering coffee and drinks in three weeks.

Love the yeast donut holes. The rest of their pastry items are great.

The ladies at the counter were wonderful. I was buying donuts for after church at Grace Lutheran. I wasn't sure which donuts would have the most appeal, so the ladies were very knowledgeable in what were the most popular for church functions. Nicely done ladies!

I love love love this place! So much that I went back to Muncie to get my wedding cake from them. I haven’t been in a while but from what I remember, they have very limited hours so make sure they’re open before you make the trip. Delicious donuts, cookies, popcorn, candies, baked confectionery type stuff, and oh my goodness their cakes are so delicious. If you ever find yourself in Muncie, this bakery and pizza king are the two places you simply can’t leave out.

Closed on mondays due to lack of leadership and willingness to work. Don’t blame on personnel when you can over staff. Poor excuse for weak leadership not working

We live out of town and this was our first time here, the bakery was great! I was not impressed by the girl helping us though. Since it was our first time here we were taking a while to decide, because everything looked so good. After every donut she would say "is that it" I found this very rude. She acted like she was to busy to help us. I hope she was just having a bad day is not always that way to the customers. We will be back next time we're in town and hopefully have a better experience.

The bakery side looked and smelled amazing! The cakes were beautiful. At the old cafe there was sticky stuff and flies all over the trash receptacle which was very near sugar and covers for my coffee. I couldn't drink my coffee after seeing all those flies.

This is childhood nostalgia for me, I grew up on Concannons. I stop thru anytime I get a chance.
