Quills Coffee

Before moving to Indianapolis in August 2019, I had a brief (~10 month) stint working in coffee, so I was eager to check out the local specialty coffee scene. Quills is technically from Louisville but that counts as local(?). I am on the pickier side and have so far been very pleased with everything I've ordered (drip coffee, espresso, milk-based drinks, pourovers, etc.). The baristas clearly know what they're doing, are always consistent, and make great recommendations. I find that coffee shops that also roast tend to be higher in quality; I've purchased a few bags of SOs (Kenya, Mexico) for home brewing and enjoyed both. Overall, a great place to do work (plenty of outlets) or just chill.

Their salted caramel bourbon latte and almond streusel croissant were delicious. Their coffee dining area is very rustic yet modern. Their workers were very knowledgeable about the different processes of coffee making.

Staff, coffee and location were excellent but all pastry (except cookies) were gone by 11 AM. It's a very c o o l place where no one talks and most everyone seated is "working through" their coffee ☕ break. What dedication to WORK!!!

One of the best coffee shops in Indy. Quills is also easily my favorite location to pick up some coffee beans for when I make coffee at home.

Love the open layout of the shop. The baristas were very helpful. The horchata latte was amazing!

My friend & I had been to the prior location but this 1 is soooooo much better. Great spot & yummy coffees.

Nice variety of coffee and tea options, lots of great spots to study or meet with others! It's very low lighting though--throughout the coffeeshop and in the study rooms too.

One of the best places in Indy to get high-quality coffee. What Quill's gets right is the essentials: delicious espresso, great pour overs, and modern atmosphere. Then, they build on that with delicious crazy drinks like the Alchemist, espresso tonic, or even their single-origin espresso, which they change up every few weeks. Their beans are delicious, if a bit pricey for those not used to buying from smaller roasters.
