Love the atmosphere, but they need to up their shot count (at least in the medium). Anything with milk takes away the coffee taste and it feels like youโ€™re drinking hot milk.

Color me surprised! Penny Lane was one of the very (and I mean VERY) few things open this last Sunday in Evansville. It's a couple blocks from the museum we had gone to see and about the same distance from our church. It being Lent we went there hoping to at least score some coffees with almond or oat milk. Well, they had not only that but some really amazing smoothies (I had the Dirty Hippie), sandwiches, and some lovely baked goods including a Vegan lemonade cupcake. Perfect since we can't have animal products until Pascha.

We were warned the neighborhood could be a bit sketchy but it was fine that day and time and we even got to sit outside (though it was breezy and in the 40s) and enjoy the spring blossoms and twittering birds. The inside was lovely. The comfy atmosphere you'd expect with books, cushy seating, and just the right amount of exposed brick was on display. (Tbph that whole area has some amazing architecture and landscaping. It's worth walking the back alleys!)

Three of us had smoothies with my husband trying a sugar free caramel latte with oat milk. Delish! The veggie burgers had cheese and pesto which we skipped. They were still nice, served on warm toasted bread with very fresh lettuce and tomato. I could have used a thick slab of red onion but they didn't NEED it. We almost felt badly ordering food as that poor lady behind the counter was working on the smallest prep space I think we've ever come across. We were legit surprised by how quickly she turned out the food and drinks and they were all high quality. Zero complaints from any of us!

The prices are more than reasonable, too. I've been surprised by the prices in Evansville in general. Whether it's the zoo, the museum, or spots to eat (even the more upscale ones), it's super reasonable which makes it painless to take the kids out. I would recommend taking a vacation in the area, especially if you're into natural sites (like Howell Wetlands, Wesselman Woods, etc) and great dining. Evansville has some great small businesses tucked all over and Penny Land is definitely near the top of the list for us. We now have a go-to place for coffee and plan on going back. i think Mom and Dad need a low key date night and this would be a perfect ending to it!

yo... This place is cute! Food is amazing! You can make your own sandwich, their bun options are the best by far my dude. Also It's for sure a vibe with super decent coffee. I'm on a diet so I couldn't get a sweet latte (sad face) but their straight black is fire fam.

This place continues to be Evansville's best kept secret. It's not flamboyant, presumptuous, or over-hyped. Stepping into this place i always feel like I've been transported to a suburb in Boston, or to a small friendly town, population 100. If you ever visit Evansville and you are looking for the best place for coffee with a delicious side of breakfast/lunch, look no further than Penny Lane.

I love this coffeehouse! The food, service, and atmosphere are always great. I personally recommend the biscuits and gravy, 'Dazed and Confused' and Voodoo Child. They are all wonderful. The girls at the counter are always super friendly and helpful. I've never had a bad experience. They are easily found and have very pretty landscaping. They also recycle, which is a big plus. I love seeing the new art and jewelry. Way to go, Penny Lane!

My boyfriend recently tried Penny Lane about two months ago and was dying to take me after his fantastic experience. Finally on Christmas Eve 2020, we started our busy day by driving to the cute, unique coffee shop. Prices are averaged between $4-$6 which that's fine for the fact it's a local business. The service was great and the drinks were even better!! The one and only thing I dislike is the parking arrangements and how narrow the small space is. But it's okay, I won't let that get in the way of crediting this business with five stars!! ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŒ

Every single time I have stepped foot in that place it's been just the most pleasurable experience. They have a great menu that is very diverse and how they manage a flattop grill with such efficiency is remarkable.

A darling little place, the coffee was simply fabulous, the atmosphere so cute, and the breakfast sandwich was so delicious! The ladies were working so hard and did a great job!
