The Java Bean Cafe

A few years back I had a really negative experience here, but when I learned that the original owners where back after watching a video the library put out, I had to give it another chance. And I'm so glad i did. The place is clean, it looks and smells great. I ordered an October special drink and I'm in love. I think a morning cup from here is going to be worked into my morning routine.

Love it! I make a point to visit just about every time I'm back in Decatur! Perfect for meetings, catching up with people, or getting work done on the computer. Great atmosphere.
I wish it was here when I actually lived in Decatur.
I don't drink coffee but the chai is great!
Plus the people and the service are always great as well!

I frequent this downtown coffee shop. It's so cozy and delicious. They're monthly specials are THE BEST with hot or iced drinks. The food is great. I love the grilled cheese and Tomato Tortellini Soup and the wraps are exquisite. Yum!!!

Great atmosphere, friendly service. I really want to like this place, but on two separate visits I received drinks that were very poor. The first time, I ordered a coconut milk latte and it was not made well. Figuring it might have been a fluke, the second time I ordered a plain house coffee and drank it black. It was similar in quality to decent convenience store/gas station coffee--nowhere near what I'd expect from a coffee shop in 2016. Lots of potential here, so perhaps things will improve.

So in love with this place! Great coffee (some even roasted on site), friendly service and always good company. The cakes are to die for and all of the other food is also delicious! This is my favorite spot in Decatur!

Great place to meet up with friends or to work. I've done a lot of schoolwork from their tables with delicious meals and treats and of course coffee. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and I appreciate the anchor they are to the growing downtown environment!

Our family LOVES the Java Bean. None of us drink coffee, but there are so many other great drinks they make! We love the sandwiches, soups, and salads. Elly’s cakes are amazing!!! The atmosphere is fantastic. One of our local faves! ❤️❤️❤️

The coffee here is always really good. This is also a really nice place to sit and have a coffee if you have a few moments to sit down and relax.

Hands down, favorite coffee shop! It's a very roomy shop with the best desserts and coffee! They offer breakfast and lunch with an array of drinks. If you're ever in the Decatur area stop in and try it! I guarantee you'll find something you like. Pssst... try the coffee cake!

Everyday that I come here and order something the staff are always kind and quick to finish my order. And they're kindness extends beyond business hours.
