Brewed Awakenings

Great curb appeal conveniently located next to Subway and Verizon northbound/southbound on Division street in quaint Morris, Illinois. No matter what my day entails, I make it a priority to stop in and grab a fresh bagel and an any size cup of coffee - hot, cold OR blended. The staff really treats you like family. Best coffee in Grundy County. I go there everytime I am in Morris. I love the smoothies and the coffee, and if you can, try a lemon bar. Always excellent service as well.

I wanted to support this place and support them over Starbucks. I got there this morning and watched from the line as the same pair of gloves appeared over and over again. I thought maybe they were switching them out so I asked if they were when I got to the front of the line at the window. The owner got in the window and yelled at me for even asking. In a time like this, businesses that are still open that handle food should not cross-contaminate by not changing out their gloves. Imagine this: they’re transferring germs from cup to cup to straw to food product all the way down the line throughout the day. By the end of the day, the last customers are being exposed to germs and bacteria from every previous customer when the gloves aren’t changed out. Not wearing gloves and washing their hands in between each order would be more sanitary than their current practices.

From on business owner to another, please please do your research in order to best protect your customer base.

This is our go to coffee shop when we come to visit in Morris, Illinois. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The choices of coffee and tea are really good. Would definitely recommend.

Thought I would try the Brewed Awakenings, and found I liked the Latte drinks and a Sweet Treat!

Im SUCH a coffee freak that its hard to satisfy me. However, this place went WAAAAAY above and beyond!! The staff has always been so amazing that i make sure i tip and tip well. The mocha madness granita is my weakness!! Super fast, incredibly reasonable prices, awesome presentation, and soooooo delicious!! I always find excuses to drive the 25 mins to morris just to stop in!! Starbucks who?

Top-notch (my wife says, "stellar") coffee. They sold raw vegan bars. My wife asked about ingredients because our kids have allergies. At this they broke out a menu binder and began to recite ingredients with the precision of a Levitical Priest. It was impressive.

We bought several 3x3" square bars (affordable and grubbin'). In addition we got a couple of breves. They were very good.

The owner was there overseeing the operation. He interacted with us, was friendly and talked about his business. Good guy.

In my view this the perfect am cup of coffee place: fast service, good brew, friendly people, and tasty snacks.

(We frequently drive around the country, refusing to buy coffee at chains while searching for locally-owned, hardworking, small businesses who are chasing their dreams and making good coffee.)

I absolutely love this place. The staff are terrific and the latte flavors are so unique. Plus it is always exciting to get a free choco covered espresso bean.

Brewed Awakenings is a wonderful addition to Morris. The staff is friendly and courteous, precise in their order fulfillment. The coffee is excellent as well, whether you like dark or lighter roasts, hot or cold drinks. Milk alternatives are offered.
