Kalin's Cafe is a true delight!! Clean atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap prices, and generous portions. I got the Italian beef with chili. My love got the heavenly hash which was absolutely divine!! My daughter got the pancake with grits both were delicious!! 5 stars all day in my book!! π π π π π

Food was decent. I had the patty melt an onion rings. Our waitress was an older lady. She took our order, brought us the food and never came back. My wife said she was sitting behind us eating between people coming in. I understand you have to eat. When you get a chance. Grab a bite here and there. But don't sit down and just eat while you have customers.

The server was really friendly and very nice, so id give them 5 stars. But the cook is terrible, the last 3 times I went in it takes easily 30-45 min to get your food. I would see people who sat down after my table with the same amount of people get their food first. I think the cook doesn't go in order of the tickets or they play favorites with the customers.

My husband and I waited 15 minutes for some one to take our drink order. Other people came in after us they got their order taken soon as they say down. 3 servers seen us setting there and just ignore us. Had to go and ask for refills girl was very rude. She just sat there rolling silverware. No service No tip. Won't be back for a long time.

Dishes were dirty. This made me sad this was my favorite restaurant growing up. The food was good but a bit pricey.

Waitstaff was lazy, and rude. I waited for refill on my coffee for 10min tried getting the waitress attention for 10min. Watched my waitress sit down to take a break. And finally I went to say something, the girl had the nerve to say very loudly to another customer that I needed to check my attitude. Rude staff food over priced. But the French toast was amazing.

I went there with my brother and the food was decent. However I based my order off of the specials listed on the napkin order placard and when I paid I found out that the prices had went up around 4 dollars per special. I was not offered a remedy or even apology. I would not recommend.

Great little diner on Main Street Duquoin, Illinois.
The service can be a bit slow but, everyone knows everyone. Itβs home cooking and I enjoyed very much.
