Since Gaslight opened it's been my favorite third wave coffee roaster in the Logan Square area. Their beans are delicious and the baristas make delicious drinks. When they opened in 2012, they were the only place in the area to get an outstanding pour over coffee. They have only gotten better since. During my current visit I tried their tea for the first time. Also, perfectly brewed and delicious. They don't throw a tea bag in a cup of hot water, so order with the expectation to wait 5 minutes for your tea. I buy their beans from time to time and have never been disappointed. The staff has always been friendly.
Being on an angled corner makes the availability of seating a little limited but there are large windows that bring in light and great views of the Blue Line rolling by. One minor flaw with this place is that the window seats do get hot on sunny days. As you might expect, they have free WiFi and some outlets so it's a good place to get some work or reading done.
Overall, I give five stars for the drinks and staff, but four stars for the cafe itself which has its flaws.

Great pastries and coffee. Can't speak to the kitchen as it was closed when I was there. Nice big open space.

This is my favourite coffee shop. Everyone is kind and patient, even when it’s been busy all day. The molasses cookies are always worth the calories. The coffee is so flavourful. I recommend getting the beans ground to take home.

One of the best coffees that I drank in Chicago. The menu is quite simple, but the quality of the products is making the difference. I had a double espresso ( a single origin "Peru" ) and a cold brew... I liked both and I give 'em 5* for the simple fact that all the coffees are roasted locally and the staff is paying attention when they prepare the recipes. Thumps up, guys ! 🤟🤟

Love it, honestly this place is worth the hassle of finding parking in Logan Square, and worth an EL trip if you're in the neighborhood. I think the coffee is complex, nutty, and flavorful. They always roast their beans to perfection, and offer a lovely atmosphere for solid conversation. I do most of my meetings at coffee shops so
atmosphere is highly important and conducive to great chatter. I recommend their cold brew and be sure to ask about the process; they are always willing to educate if you're interested. Love this place!

I really like the atmosphere here, lots of reclaimed wood and just a cozy urban-rustic kind of vibe. The coffee is excellent, as one would expect, but their small selection of pastries is a little overpriced. It's right next to a blue line station and a lot of other great dining options so the location is perfect to spend an afternoon and just relax in a coffee shop for a while.

I had a breakfast bowl with rice, lentils, bacon with two eggs over the top. Super delicious and filled me up nicely. Fun and comfortable place. Brewed coffee was okay not my favorite. Also brewed coffee should come in narrower cup—stays hot longer. Loved the place overall.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Chicago. You get a free coffee when you buy a bag. The atmosphere is always calm and the location makes it nice to watch traffic going by in two directions at once. Really great staff just finish this place off.

Lavender latte was phenomenal! A large was only $4. Pretty good for quality coffee in the city of Chicago. It's a very busy/artsy place. The cafe was packed but the baristas are fast.😉 I would go back.

The coffee here is good but they use the worst possible oat milk, it’s thin and not enjoyable at all. Really ruins what I know is good espresso.
