Just echoing the below reviewers comments, makes no sense that they're wasting this nice location on a tiny window. I came here to work based on the website, pictures, 'dine in welcome', just to waste my time! Step up your game owner.

I really love the walk up window! Nice local shop. One thing to remember is that there is usually a line in the mornings and one barista taking orders while making the drinks, so have patience and love for your barista!!!
Also, pastries are delicious but sell out fast!

Best espresso I’ve had in a while, and very good Turkish-style coffee. Plus lots of natural light and a welcoming atmosphere.

The best coffee roasted and brewed in Chicago, no question or hesitation.
This is my #1 hit to learn more about coffee and have an Experience. Even with the Covid restrictions the staff finds a way to make my cup of coffee into an adventure. The staff is knowledgable and kind, the coffee slaps, and the energy is that of a rose garden on a cliff over looking the crashing waves that brings the aroma of the salted water to your nose. Beautiful.
You have to have the espresso. All of their options. So good.

Great coffee!
They also have Kombuchade Kombucha on tap!

Was really excited to get some Turkish coffee. The environment and staff were great; however, as previously mentioned in these reviews, the Turkish coffee was a bad choice: too much cardomom and too little coffee. The cup was beautiful, but 75% full of grounds equating to about 0.5 ounces of coffee for $6.63.

Maybe the barista was having a terrible day, he made a face when we asked for my decaf with oat milk, he just said the didn't have decaf, after saying "Do you want something else", as if I made a crazy request. Not cool. Four letter coffee: lame.

One of my favorite coffee shops in the city. Logan Square (and Chicago) is lucky to have a shop like this. Highly recommending visiting the good folks at 4LW.

I’ve visited my fair share of specialty coffee shops in Chicago, Kansas City, Georgia, and overseas (South Korea). Four Letter Word didn’t let down.
I was greeted immediately once in the shop. It was freezing outside on this day, so it was a blessing, if you will, to be greeted moreover by the warm air inside.
There was no rush to order, and albeit being subjective, the Burundi pourover I ordered was [carefully brewed and] delightful. I was a bit anxious when I first walked in, simply because of the size of the space — it’s a literal hole-in-a-wall. But the seating is both plentiful and nicely spaced-out.
The music wasn’t too loud. There’s a plethora of books and magazines available for the bored customer. And there are several items (teas, coffees, etc.) for sale near the back wall.
Edit: The single-use restroom is beautiful and spacey.
I’ll definitely be frequenting you, Four Letter Word.
