Old 50 Cafe

We got seated, received menus and got our drinks ordered. Then we waited..and waited.. and waited. Then, we got up and left. No drinks delivered, no order taken. We were looking forward to eating in a locally-owned restaurant, and we were sorely disappointed. We won't recommend this place.

Excellent breakfast and lunch spot. Family run. Fresh grated hash browns and American fries. Best vegetable soup I've ever had in a restaurant. Staff is friendly.

Friendly staff clean for a restaurant from my point of view and what I seen of it. It has an old old bar in it and that was pretty awesome to see. The food was fresh and hot no complaints at all. Al had coffee and they kept this coffee cup filled that was nice. Must say a lot better than fast food.

Just a nice, homey town diner with typical diner food. No frills. Nice staff. Good prices. Great waffle. The omelets are big and full of your choice of ingredients. Plenty of town folk come through for breakfast. So quintessential!

My husband and I have visited several times. We had never had a wrong order or send anything back. Great food as always. You get a large amount of food for a really nice price. My double cheeseburger was excellent. Each patty was large in size. I had to cut my burger in sections so I could eat it. My husband had the meat skillet breakfast. Everything was perfect plus the atmosphere of a historic building is so relaxing. If you enjoy old buildings and ornate craftsmanship, may I recommend browsing their bar. It lights up and just gorgeous.

Love this place. Only the third time going and each time I have went they make you feel like family and the food is like grandma's cooking. Good home style food.

It's stuck in time but that's just fine. Been by a few times and finally dropped in across from the court house. We love to camp around Carlyle Lake but enjoy eating out and the chicken fried steak meal was perfect.
