Canton Café

The food was okay, but all kind of tasted the same. We ordered a family platter but it must have been made for a family of one. The food wasn’t the worst part though. Our waitress forgot to bring our plates out, only checked on us once, and sat behind the partition the whole time talking to her friend instead of working. The place was slow, I get that, but there were still tables that needed to be cleared off, and even another customer commented to us about service. We will never be dining there again, and wouldn’t recommend to ANYONE.

Recommended to us by Middleton locals, we decided to check it out and was pleasantly surprised. The Crab Rangoon appetizer was delicious and served with a typical sweet & sour sauce. The house fried rice was simply amazing. It was filled with various meats and veggies and not one flavor overpowered the other. The Mandarin chicken was the best I’ve ever eaten. The sauce was your run-of-the-mill sauce but the way the chicken was coated and fried was awesome. It was melt in your mouth good. I see why Canton Cafe is a Caldwell institution...good food, good service, reasonable prices. We will definitely return since there are lot of other menu items to try.

Had pork fried rice and pork chow mein very fresh and delicious. We usually have mandarin chicken or pork except last time the chicken was like popcorn chicken and pork was hard. They made it right but still afraid to try it.

The services was great. The food on the other hand was terrible. I've never eaten at this place and came here on my birthday. The rice was dry the food was over cooked.

Good, old fashioned greasy Chinese restaurant. (I mean that in the best way possible). Their crab rangoons are mighty delicious. Dining room needs a deep clean.

Horrible explanation of things,I ordered mandarine chicken w/all white meat and they didn’t bring my rice, instead of confused me into getting another side. And then they took forever to bring it. On top of that the shrimp and the chicken fried was so oily I can barely eat anything.

This was our 1st time today. The server was a very nice young man, quick and friendly the food was very good large portions and reasonably priced. We will go back again

Food tasted like it was fried in old oil. Didn't like it at all and won't be back.

Not a bad Chinese / American restaurant. Excellent, genuine customer service from the waitress. Food is pretty average but meets what’s to be expected when dining at these types of restaurants. Egg roll was the best tasting item on my dish. Beats Golden Palace’s service any day.

The smell was almost unbearable at first. Within minutes I somehow got used to the smell.

The bathroom... I feel bad for the guy that went in there before me. 🤢🤮 I hope I don't feel that way later 🤣.

The waitresses were even talking about the stench wondering if it was the bathroom.not a great topic while I'm trying to eat and not think about the smell.

The egg flower soup is good once you add salt and pepper.

The tofu and beef dish is tasty. Although, I think it was only due to the gravy on top.

The steamed rice was definitely old had to dump it into the egg flower soup to puff it back up.

The coffee I ordered was microwaved. Rather than make a new pot I got leftover coffee from 11AM. It's now 2PM.

The wait for me was super quick. However, I overheard the other table talking about 4 people walking out because they either waited to long or had to spend a certain amount because of a debit/credit card issue.

To finish off this review. NO CHOP STICKS!! what kind of "CHINESE FOOD" place doesn't offer chop sticks. They do have nice thick sturdy napkins though so +++
