The family meals feed more than they say they will. A meal for two feeds us for at least another meal. The salad is awesome. The fried rice is delicious and not greasy as might be found in some other restaurants. The sweet and sour sauce goes well with the pork or chicken.
Even the leftovers are great. Good place to eat, just plan to wait for it or call enough in advance, they do make it fresh.

The food was horrible, we took a bite and it was gross. When we asked for a refund the manager said no, even though we didn't eat more than one bite. The pork fried rice was way too salty, the chowmein was a joke, the mandarin chicken was raw and mushy. The crab Rangoon was burned. Horrible experience and def will not recommend or go back. Even panda Express is better. I am so disappointed over our experience there.

This is the best asian restaurant in caldwell. The food is so delicious and the service is awesome. I recommend the mandarin chicken or the sweet and sour pork.

Food is good, not great. Waitress was great. Place has been around forever. I can see why, food was solid, but not outstanding. Priced moderate.

I ordered 3 mandarin chicken FAMILY size boxes cooked extra soft and 2 pork fried rice. The gal i talked to said they were closing in 5 minutes and if I would make it before they closed. The chicken was horrible. It was hard and basically i got crusty skin in all 3 boxes. I called today because it was closed last night and they let me know that because the order was from the day before they couldn't refund or replace. I asked for a manager and they wouldn't talk to me. I asked how I was supposed to tell them last night after they closed. I am really disappointed that they wouldn't fix it. All i wanted was it to be remade or refunded. They said it was because of miscommunication and from the night before they offered in store credit for 1 chicken after i purchased 3. We will no longer returning after this.

This is one of my most favorite Chinese food restaurants. Or, it used to be. Still above a lot of the others and worth the drive from where I live now, Nampa. But, it's changed from the last time I had them and it just wasn't the same. It was a bummer, but still good.

I've been a customer of the Canton Café for approximately fifteen years. The dining area is simple, but clean. The same goes for the bathrooms. The smell is of Chinese food being cooked. The serving staff is made up entirely of women (if a man is working there I have yet to see him), but they are friendly and professional. Service is prompt and often when I order take-out it's ready before I get there. I have never had an order come to me incomplete or incorrect. My wife is huge fan of the Mandarin Chicken and I like the Moo-Goo-Gai Pan. They also make excellent Won-tons. The Canton has been open in Caldwell for almost fifty years and they are popular. As an employee of the city I am privy to information regarding issues with local businesses and the Canton never pops up on the radar. The Better Business Bureau never hears about any problems as well. Good place.

We were not sure, however, we had lunch plates : pork fried rice with sweet and sour pork (sauce served in desperate bowl which was great) and chow mein with egg foo yong, crunchy noodles. We were happy with flavors, quality and quantity. Both were served hot and oolong tea was delicious. As lovers of Chinese foods, we were pleasantly surprised. Service was good and server thoughtful as we nagaviated their menu.

Service was poor. There were only 2 wait staff in duty, but the dining room was not very busy with myself and only one other party at the time. I had to get up from my table twice: once for some extra napkins and another for the bill. Both times the 2 waiters were just chatting in the service alcove in front of the kitchen where they pick up the orders.
Food was okay. My wife's War Wonton soup did not have chestnuts, bamboo shoots, nor many veggies. But it had plenty of wontons and shrimp and was pleasantly hot. My pork fried rice was hot., but hard to find any pork.
I expect a lot of these deficiencies were due to employee shortages that s lot of businesses are experiencing around the country these days, but having to get up to find was still frustrating.
