In Kauai November and we LOVE malasadas, so much so that we based our accommodations on walking distance to Passion Bakery. Very happy that All baked goods are fresh and very nice owners. Of course every Tues, Thurs and Sat are when we walked at 7am to ensure we enjoyed all the yummys ! Strongly recommend and worth the wait, as all great things sometimes need a bit of patience :)

We decided to go try some malasadas.
We got there at 7:25 and there was probably 20 ppl in line. Line goes pretty fast. We decided to try the chocolate, vanilla, POG, cookies and cream. We got a cheddar an ham croissant it was okay. We got a 2 coffees one latte with macadamia nut & one mocha. Make sure you add the sweetener. The malasadas are amazing warm and filling inside you must try.

Wow what a treat! I’m glad we were close and it was open. Hands down the best malasadas I’ve ever tasted. And that’s not they have great wonderful treats and brunch/lunch menu. The staff is super nice and so accommodating. I asked them if they had half loaf of bread since we are leaving the town and won’t be able to eat the whole loaf- they were able to pack one for me! Seriously the best people ever! Thank you so much and hope to eat again here soon! Mahalo!

Would give less than one star if I could. Pretty much completely out of pastries by 9:30am. I understand there are staff shortages, but that's no excuse for the sarcastic attitude we endured at the register after a very long wait to even order. Once the order was finally in, they tried charging us an $11 pork plate just to add a small 4 oz side of pork to our 2 eggs and toast which they made incorrectly. When we brought this up we were given a very nasty attitude and "fought" to receive everything we were charged for. Not at all worth it for rude service, wrong orders, and subpar food that could be made at home. Initial total came to $20 for the plate pictured, which didn't include half the stuff until we said something.

The food is fabulous 👌 The pastries are the best😋 The lines were pretty long but well worth the wait. The house coffee is a must. Bring your appetite and Aloha spirit to enjoy the outside eating with the Rooster and friends.

I think we had just about everything on the menu! We were staying across the street so malasadas were on our list Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Thanks to Michael for the tour. What a very special spot. Don’t miss it!

I asked some locals where to get the best malasadas and the answer was unanimous - Passion Bakery! The filled ones are only available on certain days, and the place closes at noon, so plan accordingly. On my first visit, I tried one POG and one Lilikoi. They were both good, but I preferred the Lilikoi (passionfruit.)
For your benefit, I went back to double check they were consistently delicious. 😉 The answer is yes, I suggest you stop what you’re doing and fly to Kauai for a sugar coated, crème filled doughnut!

Do yourself a favor. Eat here. Just do it. Malasada was amazing. House-made chorizo was out of this world.
Edit: We came back to get more Malasadas. The store was expectedly busy. The staff were all busy filling orders. The person taking orders was unbelievably rude. Lost a star for poor customer service.

Best malasadas! I tried ones in oahu including leonard’s bakery, and this is by far the best! Friendly staff and malasada’s fillings made with care instead of overly sweetness. So chewy inside!! Only regret we had was we weren’t able to visit again

Great sugar malasadas at this little bakers. Right now they have them on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. You can get them plain or filled. They also serve breakfast and lunch. Would certainly come back again
