A good place to get a bite to eat in downtown Plains near the Jimmy Carter National Historical Park. I was hoping to try their BBQ, but since they were expecting a crowd from the SAMS Shortline Railroad that afternoon, they were working off of a limited menu. I had a double cheeseburger instead it and it was pretty good. The staff was friendly as well, keeping their patience with all of the questions as to why folks couldn't get something off of the regular menu.

Stood in line. Menu on wall clear as day. Got up to register was asked in or take out I say in. He said their only doing take out orders first (weird) should go in order. Then I order and he says they don’t have that menu the big ones on the wall. Hands me a paper says, you didn’t see it??! No I didn’t see the random papers laying around. Asks me to move over. I’m like huh? I said I’m gonna go somewhere else. He proceeds to say “there isn’t anywhere else” sir that’s not how you earn business and the ONLY reason you’re in business is because there isn’t anything else around. Gladly I’ll drive back to albany or Americus. The way they run things makes no sense to do only take out orders first, and not to have a hostess to guide tourists?? Why have a gigantic 3 poster menu on the wall. And then random pieces of menu all over the place with no guidance? Then be rude and ask me to move over and tell me no where else in town has food? Get off the high horse.

If you haven't been to Buffalo Cafe, you're missing out on some of the best bistro like cuisine. I had the chilli slaw all beef hot dogs and they were out of this world! I'll definitely be back for more!

Stopped off to grab some lunch in Plains at the Buffalo Cafe at the Old Bank. It’s a small cafe on Main Street in Plains. They have several seating areas, one at the front of the location and an indoor patio out back. We were told by the staff that Jimmy Carter donated the money to have the indoor patio built and that it was a great place to sit and have lunch and they were absolutely right. The food was good and got us out of the cold for a little while. Check it out if you’re in the area.

Great little cafe with delicious food in Jimmy Carter's hometown. Cool story of the building too... used to be an old bank and the vault is now their dry storage!

Hello the guy that take orders and run the cash register is so rude he don’t take time write your order down correct . This is my last time ordering anything else. I also was overcharged . My food was horrible

Had a wonderful lunch here. Service was great. They now have 2 tables out front for real outdoor dining. We were able to finish before the storms came in!

Quality food but an expensive lunch. Sides aren’t included with most sandwiches. By the time you add soft drinks, your bill can get pricey. Our bill was $35+ for two adults and one small child.

Really good food but not for the price. $10 salads and $12 full meals. Drink not included. But it has a nice atmosphere.

It's a neat restaurant because it's located in an old bank and they use the old safe as a storage room. They claim to have the best burger in the state in 2016 and it was a pretty average burger. The menu was really limited at the time that we went. The service was great and the people were super nice. I think that it is the only restaurant in town so they have kinda monopolized the tourist food industry from SAM shortlines. It had an overall great atmosphere.
