Z Beans Coffee - Mercer Village

I have been drinking Z-Beans Coffee ever since they first started roasting it and selling it. It's the best coffee roast I have ever had. And coming as a strong coffee drinker, that is saying something. I make it in my french press in the morning, I have my business buy it and make it for the entire team and I'll frequently stop by the coffee shop and have a cup of coffee. I drink their coffee black or iced but I'm told by my friends who drink the fancier types that they are good.

The coffee shop by itself is worth the trip. What previously was an outdated Jit Joes that never catered towards the students is just the opposite. The owners (who are Mercer grads) are extremely passionate about their business and it shows in the details. Always clean and friendly staff. I would strongly recommend going there to work, relax by yourself or meet up with somebody.

I am not a coffee goer, so when I arrived at Z Beans I had no idea as to what I was doing. I told the cashier somewhat of what I liked, and without a thought she said,” I know the drink for you.” Upon receiving the drink, I was astounded by the rich taste. All in all, good look, great service, greatest taste.

Z Beans became a part of my routine as a student at Mercer University! The awesome staff serving up smooth, great tasting coffee with a unique flavor will be one of the things I miss most about Macon. Fortunately, the online ordering options help me keep Z Beans part of my daily routine even when I’m not in Macon anymore!

My husband and I have been going to Z-Beans for awhile each Sunday morning. Up until two weeks ago, service has been very friendly, and they have great coffee and atmosphere.

Last week, we requested the special that was advertised on the chalkboard outside. It makes it sound like any 16 oz drink is available with this special. After we ordered and they rang up the price, which was significantly more than the advertised special, we asked why they didn’t apply the special. They said it only applied to drip coffee and not to other types of drinks. This week, I ordered a 12 oz cappuccino and a danish. The gal at the register started getting a 20 oz cup. I said that looked like it might be a different size than what I ordered. After she rang my order up, it only came to the price of the coffee. I reminded her about the danish. She then muttered under her breath that I didn’t order one. But I DID.

I’ve done customer service. I get having things on my mind and being distracted. I’ve made mistakes in orders. I’ve had people that annoyed me for no particular reason or just rubbed me the wrong way. But in the end, all those things were really MY problem and sometimes I just had to fake the positive vibes.

I’ve really enjoyed going to Z Beans in the past, and I prefer to support local businesses rather than Starbucks. But if I’m paying $8 for coffee and a pastry, I don’t want an attitude from the barista. Additionally, the sign advertising the breakfast special needs to be a little more specific, because right now it’s coming across as false advertising.

I love to go to Z Beans and get my double shot of espresso with a latte buffer.
The folks are always so kind and helpful.

I LOVE Z Beans. I have enjoyed the ground coffee and the KCups.

The new store in Mercer Village Macon Ga is clean, fun and inviting. This coffee is simply amazing.

Best coffee in Macon, Georgia! Startup by Mercer alumni, offering a unique coffee blend that I am unable to find anywhere else. Great location for Mercer students to study, or grab a quick bite and coffee. 10/10 recommend visiting if you're in the area!

There was a young lady working the counter the day of my visit, named Cassidy. She is the reason I will be returning. She was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable , funny and her customer service skills were impeccable. 10/10 no doubtl0

If I had to chose between which was better, the service or the coffee itself, I couldn't. The young woman working was extremely polite and was able to describe the nitro press, a question from my husband who ended up ordering. His drink, along with my caramel macchiato with extra caramel as requested, was extremely flavorful and hands down the best coffee we have tasted. My only suggestion would be to implement a rewards program as myself, and I am sure many others, will be stopping in daily.

Z-Beans is one of the best spots on Mercer's campus to grab coffee. It is a great atmosphere and the people who work there treat you great. They have a huge role on campus helping many organizations. I definitely recommend stopping by and trying it out.
