The Grind Coffee Bar and Cafe

This is my favorite spot in Tampa. Every single day consistently for three + years? My husband and I have ordered something from here. The family favorite is a Cafe Con Leche (which is the best I’ve found in Tampa- and living here nearly 30 years, I have tried A LOT). We also love the breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and drool worthy cinnamon rolls. What matches (or beats even) the delicious food and drink, is the staff. The staff is amazing. Some of the hardest working people I have ever seen. On mornings when I come before work and the sun, (lol) my drink is always ready for me- with a warm smile. On weekends, when they are busy, you can see how incredibly hard everyone is working together to provide the best service they can. They are kind and considerate and always provide the best service. This is a small, made to order, family spot in a crowded area of Tampa. I love when I come in and see business booming. It’s our community and I am so proud to support it. They go out to their way to learn names, serve tasty treats and make their customers feel special and welcome. I have brought countless friends and family here over the last few years and everyone has been thrilled with both the food and service. This is definitely the spot to go for all your coffee bar and cafe needs!

Hello, I am one of the owners of The Grind Coffee Bar and Café. There are many benefits to online reviews. The honest, constructive, well-intentioned feedback from customers sharing their experiences regarding food quality and service are what have helped us succeed. We’ve been successfully and happily serving our community for over 8 years.

One of the detriments to online reviews is that we have no control or options for comments that are not reflective of us as an organization. There are currently 2 reviews on here that are in regards to experiences with other customers, not staff. We have almost no control over how customers behave while they are here. When inappropriate behavior is identified, we notified the customer(s) in question that they are no longer welcome here. Aside from that, it is wholly unfair for the owners and staff to be punished for 3rd parties’ poor behavior. In addition, it is absolutely offensive to be, essentially, tagged as part of the abhorrent behavior of customers described in these reviews. We are an inclusive, love-all, serve-all organization and employ a team that not only believes in this but exemplifies it.

I strongly ask anyone who posts reviews to think about the things you say and the allegations you throw out in your reviews. Please, if you are punishing a business due to circumstances outside of their control, leave it off your review and/or go back and delete your comments.

Thought this would be a great place based on the 4.5 star rating and photos of the food…was not impressed. Staff was friendly for the most part. Coffee was great but the food only looks nice. Pancakes were tough and the meals with eggs were very plain tasting. My family and I (Puerto Rican and Black) felt like we were stared down by not only staff but customers as well from the moment we walked in until we left. I agree with the person whose review says that people of color aren’t welcome. My boyfriend was ordering his food and I came to stand by him, a customer next to me moved their Louis Vuitton wallet closer to them and away from me as if I would take it in front of all of those people at the register. Nothing to do with the establishment and their service, but just wanted to say it felt uncomfortable in there. When we were all done, the waitress came by and made a comment that not all the plates were cleared…that was awkward. She could’ve asked how the food was instead. Long story short, this was our personal experience and we wouldn’t highly recommend.

Great place for coffee of all kinds of varieties. Haven't had a bad cup yet! Try muffins...delicious. Great service..very friendly. You'll stop going to Starbucks after you've been to this spot.

Hip coffee shop vibe, with a wide variety of food options. Ordered grill cheese sandwich and coffee. Specials are very inexpensive.

This place is awesome. Visited 3 times during a recent vacation to Tampa. The breakfast is so fresh and innovative, not like a chain. The hot mess sandwich and breakfast bowl. They are both incredible. For lunch I had the turkey club and it was just great. Here is the thing, not only is the food excellent, but this is a real coffee shop! Not just the typical coffee, but a local coffee shop for Americanos, espresso, lattes, pour over, they have it all. Again, this is not a chain but a true local restaurant and coffee shop.You owe it to yourself to try it! You will not be disappointed!
