We chanced upon this cheerful little café after the usual Starbucks-around-the-corner did us wrong with extra delays. No overpriced burnt-bean coffee for us today.
When we turned the corner, we couldn’t believe our eyes. Better coffee at a better price in better environs.
The cheerful Café con Leche crew kept the queue moving briskly and before we knew it they had crafted a 20 oz double-shot masterpiece. Should make it most of the flight. What a great day!
On our way to Puerto Rico and had a layover in Tampa (terminal C). I really liked the fact I could get a single shot of espresso. My wife and I got a Cuban sandwich and it was good. The wait time wasn't bad (considering it is an airport).
Great Cuban toast. Hot coffee. Nice people. Slow service for the food portion, but the coffee came fast. Very good, just was in a little bit of a hurry.
Okay, I was starving for breakfast because my partner and I had an early flight so this was the first place I saw and it looked pretty nice from the outside. Let’s start off with the fact that the breakfast sandwiches are 8-10 dollars a piece. Insane. I ended up ordering the Ybor which is ham cheese and egg. How could that go wrong right? I never get to the point where I’m about to throw up from food but this did it for me. The ham was over seasoned, the eggs were mushy and bland and the bread was so dry I inhaled it and coughed. I took one bite and spit it out and threw away this whole 8 dollar sandwich. Now with the coffee, my partner and I work at a coffee shop so we are connoisseurs of espresso and coffee. The iced coffee was watery. And when we asked where the cream and sugar were, the very rude worker just pointed to a pot of cream without and politeness. Overall I wish I could give this place no stars. It was disgusting and the workers were so rude. We ended up going over to Starbucks and spending less for a really good sandwich. Don’t waste your time here.
I ordered the Spanish Turkey sandwich on their menu. I waited for around 15 minutes, I get it they have a lot of orders. The cappuccino I ordered came out fast but when my sandwich came out, it was two slices of bread. There was nothing in the sandwich. We paid full price for the sandwich too. I’m sure it was just a mistake but this was a bad airport restaurant experience.
I had the hot pressed Cuban sandwich and turkey sandwich. Both were astonishingly good. First they oven bake them then they press them on the flat griddle. Definitely the best value for food in an airport I have had for a long time. Really tasted like premium meat. Roasted pork and ham plus salami in the Cuban. Bread was nice and crunchy with some chew. Really a good size as well. My latte was as expected. I felt the service was friendly and quick. If you are walking by this place just stop and get a hot sandwich won't disappoint. Ate it so quick forgot to take a picture!
I was surprised to see any negative reviews. They do sell sandwiches in the refrigerated section. I guess avoid that and just ask for the hot sandwiches at the counter.
My Italian sandwich had no flavor, my ice coffee was so freaking strong it was horrible. For this to be mainly a coffee spot they only offered mocha for flavors...when asked to fix the coffee I definitely felt some attitude, and it was still nasty. Waste of $19, and will stick to starbucks 😑
The cafe con leche, guava pastry, and hot presses Cubans are the best! I alway arrive early for my flight to grab some food and coffee, it's totally worth a little less sleep! My only complaint is the sign says it opens at 4:30am and today I waited and waited and it was 4:55 and they still hadn't opened so I had to rush off to board my flight hungry and tired.

Ask for the 20 oz. Café con Leche

Any time you can spend $4 on a muffin that’s both stale AND smashed, you have to do it, right? Bonus points for it tasting horrible.

Good, clear menu. Great morning coffee. Fine, professional service from Ms. Abraham running the register while at the same time directing others.
