The Kookaburra Downtown

A+ Local coffee shop. Super friendly staff, great selection of muffins/bread, and delicious coffee options. They were fast with big smiles. Cheers to great local businesses!

The Kookaburra is my favorite coffee shop. Ever. I live an hour and a half away and make sure I stop in every time we’re in St Augustine. I’ve been to all the locations. They are the only independent coffee shop that I’ve found that will make all their drinks in a decaf version which I love! My favorite are the Honey Badger and the Mocha Nut. I’ve had their baked goods and they are all good as well.

We stopped in for meat pies and coffee on our last day in St Augustine. We loved it! We got the Yankee, which was essentially cheeseburger pie. We'll definitely be back next time we are in town. My coffee was great! It was very "bright" and on the acidic side, but that's how I prefer mine. You can get just about any of their coffees iced even though that isn't explicitly advertised. Check this place out!

Friendly employees, a bit pricy for coffee (compared to starbucks), but overall a clean, good place. Most likely will come again with my kids since they enjoy muffins.

Adorable and tasty coffee shop! Coffee is delicious and the Aussie pies are a real treat! Highly recommended!!! Seating is next door and very cozy.

We loved this place so much we went EVERY day on our trip. The honey badger is a must! All of their baked goods were out of this world. This little spot is doing it right, thoughtfully decorated, great drinks and food. I can’t wait to go back

When we arrived they were out of pies which was disappointing but opted for a berry scone in lieu of the pies. It was tasty and it came with a nice cream and a lovely jam. We were told the fresh pies may arrive in an half hour or so, so we sat with optimism while enjoying our yummy stuff. We were rewarded with an earlier than expected pie arrival so we snagged two lovelies! I had the Rashers and Egg and he had the Corker. Both were cooked and seasoned perfectly! We will be adding this spot to our list of places to return to in St. Augustine!

It was a Tuesday morning and I was hungry and maybe slightly hungover and my boyfriend was too so I decided to venture out and grab us some coffee and breakfast. I read some great reviews for The Kookaburra and also saw them recommended on a “where the locals go in St. Augustine” blog post so I knew I had to check them out. We were staying at the St. George Inn which is only about 1/2 mile from the Kookaburra so I walked there. I ordered the decaf iced Hot Aussie (go ahead and laugh at the decaf order but I’m sensitive to caffeine!) for myself, a regular iced Hot Aussie for my BF, and the only meat pies left, the Jackaroo. Everything was delicious! The decaf coffee is decaffeinated via the water process method so no weird chemicals and no lack of flavor in the beans. The meat pies are just one of the best things I’ve ever had for breakfast - flaky pastry dough that tastes like biscuits envelops eggs, cheese, veggies and meat. So good. We loved the place so much that we went again the next day. I had a decaf iced latte with almond milk, which was good, and the crustless meat pie. Then we went back again before we left St. Augustine and I ordered another decaf iced Hot Aussie. If I lived in St. Augustine this would probably be my go-to coffee shop. Love it!

We come here every week before church. Staff are super friendly and quick, small seating area, but it works for them. Aussie pies, pumpkin donuts, and vegan brownies are amazing to name just a few. Ice brew with jackaroo aussie pie is my favorite!
