First of all I want to say that I think it’s great that Ocala FINALLY has a boba spot. The staff was very nice and friendly. With that said, I’ve definitely had better boba tea. I ordered a Taro milk tea with boba, and the tea itself wasn’t awful. Tapioca pearls are supposed to be chewy and sweet, and the boba was really hard and not good at all... I say all this knowing I have a good understanding of what good boba tastes like. Overall my experience wasn’t the best, but I hope that this helps improve the Bubble Bar in the future.

The snow boba tea taste like water. I don’t know if they put too much ice or not enough flavor. Very disappointed since they are so expensive! I bought 2 and both me and my son couldn’t even finish them. Taste of Asia is a lot better and less expensive if you’re looking for Boba tea in the area.

I tried their coffee milk tea with boba and it was delicious. My friend tried their mango tea, and it was really good as well.
We sat inside and played some of the games provided, (ticktacktoe, connect four, mancala ect) which I thought was a nice touch and makes it a cool place to come hangout.
I'm from New York and used to drink boba often so, I'm excited that this shop opened up!

Best boba place in Ocala:
Here’s why-
1) Literally the nicest people I have met. Me and my mother went to go check this place out, and I got a house boba, while my mom got a coffee without boba. When my mother said it was a little dark, they offered to make her a new one. They were so nice but we didn’t except the offer, due to knowing they might throw it away. We don’t really like to waste anything. My boba was so delicious I plan on coming back.
2) The boba pearls are very good and chewy. I love boba, especially the chewy kind. Some bobas are very powdery, but these ones were perfect.
3) The little cafe was very cute and adorable. They also have a nice back area where there are tables with umbrellas for shade.
It was overall one of the best experiences I have had going to a boba place. This is compared to a boba place that didn’t even sell boba teas lol..

The service and drinks were amazing. A family friend was anxious about trying boba for the first time and one of the managers kindly helped her figure out what she'd like. Overall, it was an amazing experience.

I live on the outer side of Ocala so I’m not really able to get out to the middle of the town that often, ever time I do I always think they are closed so I don’t go in. The other day my friend brought me one or two of their drinks, one tea and another milk tea, it was amazing. I’m sadly giving them 4 stars just because they don’t deliver with door dash, they have Grubhub but it makes you pay like $17 just to deliver one drink so I can’t really afford it. If they ever switch to DoorDash in the future I will definitely be ordering from them more.

Everyone was the nicest and my husband and I’s Taro Milk teas were the best I’ve ever had. And I’ve had them from all over from Florida, to Cali, to Hawaii, and even Canada. You have to check them out they are amazing!

First, I want to say that the milk tea here is wonderful. Five stars for that. It tastes wonderful and at first, I was so happy a boba tea place finally opened here. But business wise this place is a mess. First, it took them forever to open even though opening dates were posted. They kept saying licensing permit problems. But for two months? Then a few weeks ago, I went there to get a large milk tea with tapioca pearls. I was told there are no large cups. No big deal. They had just opened. It took quite a long time for the order to be ready even though there was only one person in front of me. Again, I thought they had just opened. Went there today - a few weeks later, still no large cups. And this time I was told it would take an hour for them to make tapioca pearls. Really? Most people getting these teas expect tapioca pearls. And why is it taking weeks to get large cups? I am now assuming they did not have large cups when opening. I could be wrong but really ordering cups is basic inventory of running a business as is having the food product customers expect. I have gone to to this chain in Orlando and had zero problems. This is basic business. Have your supplies ready. Large cups are pretty basic. And no tapioca pearls shows lack of preparation. I am not sure I will be returning again because this second visit was very frustrating. There were a few other things that are very unprofessional but I am stopping here. For what it is worth my advice is be ready with inventory and food product customers expect. If I do buy a tea in a third visit and there are still no large cups and no tapioca pearls I will for sure be done. And I am sure you will lose other customers who are familiar with milk tea.

I am sorry you felt this was/is not a professional business. If asked,
I would have been more than happy to explain the hold up. First, govt shutdown prevented permits being issued. Secondly, large cups were never an option until recently (we have been opened for 2 weeks) we must special order them because of our specialized sealing machine. Lastly, the boba- I would have been happy to explain to you we had someone come in before you and order over 20 drinks. That took our supply. It takes well over 90 mins to make a fresh batch and everyone was offered free popping bubbles for the inconvenience. All of these are not excuses but explanations to the above comments. I wish you would have expressed your concerns at the time of your visit and we could have possibly avoided any ill will.
From customer:
First, I do not know how my honest review can be considered ill will. Second, I was told it would take 60 minutes for the tapioca pearls. And I was NOT offered free popping bubbles for the inconvenience. I was not offered anything. Accusing me of ill will is so far off base. There was nowhere to reply to your comments so I edited my own original review. I do not like it when I am lied too. And as for the large cup issue here is a simple fix. Take the option off the menu. I wish you all success in your business and have no ill will toward you. I do not know you. But you have lost me as customer. Consider how you reply to reviews and customer comments. Your reply is an example of being unprofessional as manager or owner. It is unusual for me to even post reviews. I was excited about your business opening and I even said five stars on your tea. You didn’t even mention that. Instead you offered excuses and implied I had ill will toward you. I truly wish you the best of luck.

What a fantastic niche finally in Ocala! The tea's were incredible. I normally don't post reviews, but went on to read some of the other wonderful things people were saying about the Bubble Bar and came across one that was rather aggressive/cross. Every new business will take time to perfect, but I had to note, she mentioned several times she was disappointed there was no large "when it was on the menu", however.....there is NO large mentioned on ANY menu at this shop. I asked about this and they explained that they will be getting larger sizes but wanted to make sure the flavors were perfected before getting larger options - this is not a chain, so they don't have the same offerings as chain shops. Seems to me this was planned, not a mishap in ordering! As for running out of boba, meh.....when you have a great product, you are bound to run out at the end of the day. I can't imagine after only being open a short time that they would know exactly how much to have made without wasting it. I've been to Kung Fu Tea in Gainesville and they too had run out of boba - it happens. It'll generally take a couple of months to decipher what they need on hand, I would think. I hope everyone loves this place as much as we did. As they say...."there is always going to be one of "those" in the crowd" that you can't please LOL. Everyone in my party thought the tea was so delicious it didn't even matter that they ran out of boba - we were there just before closing for the 4th time since opening! But this was the first time they had run out since I had been there. If you have not been there yet, make sure you step outside to the garden area! It's an oasis in the city! The only small negative I could give is that parking was limited, but when I asked the shop about this, they explained there is a grassy lawn by the church that is assigned to them. All in all - 5 stars - nothing like them around for miles.
