The owner, Jason, is a super friendly and interesting guy. This place is awesome. Delicious, high quality coffee and a very chill atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Best coffee I ever had everything the Cafe Con Leche.

I have been here three times now and have had two iced coffees (maple spice), 1 hot coffee (Campfire latte) and a Cinnamon roll so dry that tasted like it came out of an MRE (military food ration). No real consistency, not overly welcoming even when they were pretty slow; I get it but man, even the "hipster" coffee shops can muster a "hello" or a "what's up" but the girl behind the counter with the septum piercing acted like I was bothering her when I asked for iced coffee. Also, they take FOREVER to get you your drink, regardless of what type of machine you have; iced coffee doesn't take 10 minutes. Additionally, parking was a nightmare and I had to do the "Mogadishu Mile" through the hood after parking my truck to get to the back entrance, which is totally unsecured and needs to be locked in that type of area as it is a massive security issue given the large amount of homeless, transients, junkies, etc. roaming all over the immediate area.

12/16/21: Extremely unprofessional ownership and juvenile, untrained management; this place is a joke. I will make sure no one I know goes to Social Grounds.

A cozy place with very nice and friendly employees. Ordered hot chocolate with coconut milk while reading a book and waiting for being picked up. It was very rich and flavorful, I enjoyed every sip.

My first time visiting was very impressive. I was met with a friendly welcome and a brief explanation of the mission of this coffee shop. Helping Veterans to assimilate back into civilian life is always at the top of my list. Aside from that, my regular ground coffee was luscious and hot! The gluten free pecan maple muffin was off-the-chain delicious! Thanks Guys!!! Salute!

Best coffee shop in Jax - no contest. Staff are superb; after the first visit we were on a first-name basis.

Veggie quiche is EXCELLENT. Cinnamon raisin bagel is great. Espresso is tasty,, not bitter. Additionally, in-house whole bean roasts are a great take-home option.

Give this place a shot. You will be pleased.

I really like and enjoy the vibe of Social Grounds! The staff are super friendly and helpful! But above all else, their coffees are legit!! If you're a fan of coffee with milk (latte, cappuccino, etc.), try their Café Con Leche! It's my new go-to and I cannot be in or or around downtown without stopping by and grabbing a cup (or two)!
