Present Tense Coffee and Books

Yesterday was our second time in your coffee shop and bookstore. Ministry brought my brother in law and sister in law to the area and I was excited to bring them in to try your coffee and to browse your book selection. We travel often & love coffee and I have to admit your coffee is delicious and one of the best that I’ve tasted! I love that your shop is family friendly and there are even books for my little Finn to browse through :) I am happy to support a local business and share my experience with the community. We will definitely be back soon! Thanks!

Present Tense was something that we didn’t know we needed in Clay County! The coffee is fresh, the atmosphere is cozy, and Holli and her staff are so friendly! Plus....the books! As an avid reader, I love stopping in and grabbing a cup of coffee, a treat from B’s Knees Bakery, and new (to me) book to lose myself in!

Present Tense is a spot to get cozy, chat with a friend, read to the kiddos or relax and sip on the best tasting cup of coffee! Hands down the best coffee and selection of books!!!! Cozy environment. Inviting and helpful staff.

Went in today. Not a very friendly place. I was not asked if I needed help. If I could I would give no stars.

Enjoyed my experience at the coffee shop. They have a wall of books in a way I aspire to have a wall of books. The tea was very good as well and staff was very friendly for my whole visit.

Locally owned by the sweetest lady. She is very knowledgeable about authors, books and coffee!! Amazing relaxed atmosphere. Great place to grab a coffee and hang out with friends, get some work done or grab a book and a comphy chair to have some quiet time. Great addition to the community!! 💙💙

The atmosphere, peanut butter toast, customer service, book selection, and cold brew are all fantastic. I love seeing such diverse groups of people enjoying this local small business ! Junior high kids , moms with their toddlers , professionals , couples ....everyone seems to enjoy their time at Present Tense !

Friendly staff, really good coffee, and a heart for the community. They are just getting started but you can already tell that Present Tense will be a staple in Lake Asbury and we get to grow with them! A much needed addition to the area.
