We were here from out of town for a High School baseball game. After going around the different restaurants in the area and noticed all had similar prices we stopped at Captain Morgan Seafood Grill and are very happy we ate here. The shrimp enchilado plate was amazing as well as the appetizers we had. You can't leave without trying the flans. The rum flan was delicious. Staff was friendly and service was great.

Decided to stop in Everglades City and see if we could find someplace to eat instead of waiting till we got back to Naples.
We are so glad we did! Restaurant was bright and welcoming the staff extremely friendly and gracious. The food...was phenomenal!! We had the gator bites. We've never had Cuban food before. I just wish Buffalo wasn't so far away, and we could return more often!

Overall, my family had a great experience at Captain Morgan's! There is great outdoor seating, and inside the building is beautiful. There is a relatively small menu, but it is a quality menu that offers something most people would find tasty. We are in no way connoisseurs of Spanish cuisine, so some of the flavors were new to us. That being said, we were happy with the food! We ordered the Lady Pirate Lobster, Shrimp Enchilado, and Butterflied Steak plates, which come with deliciously prepared and seasoned white rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. We found the Enchilado sauce to have a hint of heat/spice (but we have an *extremely* low tolerance for spice). The Rum Flan, Coffee Flan, and Meringue Key Lime Pie were absolutely delicious! The iced Café Con Leche was delicious as well. We were happy we found this new restaurant and decided to try something that was so new for us.

Omigosh! The Captain's Signature Seafood Enchilado served with black beans, rice and sweet plantains was exceptional! It contained lobster tail, stone crab claws, lots of shrimp, scallops, etc. Plenty for two to share. The flan with their housemade rum sauce was the best I've ever tasted! Most definitely returning with friends!

We were served this afternoon by Andreas who is currently be trained. The food was definitely overpriced but quality was okay.
Our big issue this afternoon was the huge crisis of splitting our check (apparently). Maggie (another server and mother of our server) walked over to yell at her son for splitting our check and aggressively told him “don’t do this to me again!” Apparently they have a policy of not splitting checks when they are busy.
They were not busy at ALL today. We tried to ask why and we’re rudely shut down and cussed out by Maggie. It’s is disgustingly unprofessional to reprimand your son in front of us and be so rude to us for asking to SPLIT A CHECK.
I asked for her name and said we’d be leaving a review and she rushed over to get in our faces and let us know she “doesn’t feel bad for enforcing policy”. UNBELIEVABLE. All we wanted was a nice meal after our boat tour, gigantic disappointment. STAY AWAY.
In response to their blantanly untrue reply: the restaurant was NOT busy AT ALL. This is the person who caused these issues today.
Your son did not ask to come to the table: you marched over and HOLLERED at him before he spoke one word. He was going to split the check before you did that. Do not lie to save face.
We did nothing before you came at us so aggressively. We were in the middle of leaving and told you we would be leaving a poor review when you start yelling we needed to leave. Purse was already in hand and had stood up.
Had you politely let us know the policy, we would have complied. And we DID. We paid with the one check, and when you heard us say we would mention you in our review you charged at us.
Insane.

Today we had ice cream Smoked Maple Burben, strawberry and cookies and cream all delicious with generous servings. Excited to go back soon and try several items on their menu!

This place will not disappoint. The food and service is awesome! You get great quality food along with great service. The prices are great for the quality of food you get. The Seafood Enchilado was awesome. They also have Paella, but you need to call ahead to get them to make. It takes the about 45 minutes for them to make it. I am so happy that Everglades City has a great new place to go to.

Living in Davie, my wife and me spend most of our weekends in the Fakahatchee or Big Cypress, often then staying for dinner in Everglades City. This time we gave this new restaurant a try and didn't regret at all. This cuban-latin inspired restaurant is a great addition to Everglades City, we enjoyed every minute. Food and service was excellent and they have a very good variety. They also have local crafts beer (riptide) on tap and their two IPAs are just great and come perfectly served with a nice foam. And to top it all, they have proper cafecito, cortadito, cafe con leche and colada, done the right way (maybe standard in Miami but certainly not in the Everglades) and you can get fabulous homemade rum flan with it. We will come back!

Excellent food and service. Three of us had lunch— Shrimp Enchilado, Grouper Sandwich Cuban style, and Palomilla. Also we had rum flan for dessert. We would all order our entrees( and the flan) again. The restaurant is very clean. We drove from Naples and we are already planning to go back soon.
