One of the most unpleasant cafe experiences; the blatant rudeness from the staff was astonishing. My wife and I felt unwelcome immediately upon entering. No hello (despite us saying hello), no pleasantries - almost outright hostility. It was evident it wasn't going to get better so we left a few minutes after taking menus from the counter (no offer of menus was made). I note that two other reviewers in the last few months have made similar comments: Daniela Munoz and Htoon Alamri. This is not an isolated incident.
Avoid unless you like being treated with disdain.

PHENOMENAL!!!!
Love the attention to details, the cleanliness of their facilities. Just an excellent place. If more places held their standards to even meet this place the world would have a better menu……

Friendly service and great coffee. Visited 5 times over a 3-day visit and they had my name and coffee preference after 1 visit. An indulgence normally enjoyed only by more regular customers.

I work just around the corner from this shop, and I make it my morning routine to always stop in and grab a quick cold brew and a tasty treat (try the banana bread, blueberry muffin, or avocado toast). Don’t forget to come back in the afternoon for a delicious selection of wines and other food like pan de queijo!
I noticed in other reviews that some folks were uncomfortable with mask requirements; however, when you are a small business with a very small staff, extra precautions must be taken to ensure that people can stay healthy and continue to come to work. This isn’t just for the people working there, but for the customers. I’m happy to support this small business that puts the safety of its customers and staff first.

Convenient location and love the concept and design. I cannot speak to their food, but the latte I ordered was a bit too weak for two shots of espresso.
Unfortunately, not the most welcoming or enjoyable place to patron. Love supporting small businesses who want your business, not places who treat their customers as a nuisance.

Good vibes and good coffee.

There are places you eat, get your drink, and keep coming year after year without hesitation because you get always the best food, service, and personal touch and this is exactly what this place is, a place where you feel special and get always great food and drinks! My friends joke with me that I should be a sponsor for this place as I come here on a daily basis! I told them, I am a loyal customer once I found a little gem and The Ministry is exactly that to me, a little Gem in the vast jungle of Washington, D.C.! Oh yes, if you are looking for that perfect Instagram picture, this is your place as you will encounter the big poster of Queen Elizabeth! Cheers!

I LOVE this place. It’s beautiful, cozy, and definitely a great place to share a meal with friends. I think the combination of a wine and coffee bar is really unique, and sets the place apart. I really like their various topped toasts. The poached pear, avocado, mushroom, and strawberry ones are all good, and you could go with a group and get a few to share. The kale and goats cheese salad is also great. I can’t wait for them to roll out the rest of the menu!
Elisa, the manager/founder, is also an amazing host, and you can tell she really cares about giving her customers an excellent experience. She’s friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.

This is MY FAVORITE coffee shop in Washington, DC! It is a great place to post up and get work done. My favorite menu items are: iced latte, horchata, banana bread, breakfast bun (fabulous), and avocado toast (also fabulous). Many times I opened my tab in the morning, ate the breakfast bun, stayed for hours to work, and then ate the avocado toast for lunch! The iced latte will put hair on your chest, too; it's STRONG. Which I like, because I am not a morning person. Elisa, the co-owner, is the most wonderful and welcoming person. And she remembers the names of all frequent guests; small gestures like this make a big difference.
Businesses owned by women of color are far too rare, so that makes this place extra special as well.
If I could offer a small piece of *constructive* feedback, it's on the wifi. The wifi access period ends a little too quickly, and it takes a little bit too long to reboot before you can log in again.
See you next time, Ministry!

The Ministry is wonderful local women owned business located perfectly when working on the Hill or going to school at GT Law School. Wonderful coffee, treats to get you through you day. When your finishing your day stop by for glass of wine and evening treat. Please visit this amazing business needing the support more than ever during the pandemic!
