TCB has some of the best coffee downtown. It's so nice to get away from the Starbucks. They also offer an inclusive environment and supported the ACLU, so they won in my books!

Nice third-wave coffee shop with great standard coffee, espresso drinks, and tea etc. The seasonal drinks like their Cardamon Latte or Ameri-cola are wonderful. Snacks and breakfast available with bagels, crossants, etc.

There are now some truly terrific coffee places in DC. And among this current crème de la crème crop of post-starbucks, post-peets coffee places, the two Coffee Bars stand out by being exceptionally friendly and welcoming, as well as serving top-notch espresso. What more can a purist want?

TCB. Taking care of business. Or the Coffee Bar.
The Coffee Bar serves up your coffee from a variety of independent, third-wave roasters, including Ceremony, Verve, Bespoken, Onyx, and Novo (...sounds like an odd cult gathering). So for those who love the aforementioned roasters, fuel your caffeine addiction with some TCB.
On tap drip, espresso, (vanilla, chai, dirty) latte, cappuccino, mocha, #dailycortado. TCB makes them all with passion. And if you're not one for coffee, you can get some hot chocolate or teas. They also have a selection of pastries from local suppliers including Hawthrone, Sweet Lobby, Bethesda Bagels, and Paisley Fig. Their milk is sourced from a local farm in Lancaster County. In summary, if you're a coffee snob or pride yourself in repping and supporting local businesses, TCB is definitely for you.
I stopped by after a meeting in DC to get some much needed caffeine one afternoon. The coffee counter/bar area is décor goals. Chalkboard menu boards (with some of the most beautiful handwriting), coffee paraphernalia, coffee beans, glasses, succulents, and matchy robin egg blue pendant lights and counter wall.
Not a whole lot of seating but there are a few if you want to plop down and get a good short story in before your next class or meeting. Most of the cups that come from behind the counter are to go. Friendly staff who are obviously having fun and love what they do. Thank you for TCB.

I was searching for a great coffee shop during my business trip to DC, and this was the perfect spot. Excellent cappuccino! Also love the multigrain bagel.

This location serves some of the best cacceinated beverages around. They have seasonal lattes, limits pastries, bagels, and tea. A little bit for everyone, don't expect to be able to sit down and stay a while, this place is almost always packed.

The coffee bar second location is smaller and more geared towards the in and out business crowd, but still great coffee and espresso. Not as cozy as the other location which is my favorite coffee place in DC

They have matcha! Cute inside with a smaller seating area. Everything looked delicious. I appreciate the compostable straws and a few baked goods.

Always the friendliest staff and great coffee! It is a tiny business with a big impact on Downtown DC. I look that much more forward to meetings and events when I know I'll get to stop by TCB!
