The coffee is top notch! Roasted in-house with many manners of preparation. I've always fancied these types of coffee houses in larger cities. If my wish could be granted, it would be to add beer and wine to the menu with a few tapa items and this would be my one-stop shop for chillin' at all hours!! The baristas know their craft and are very friendly and accommodating. Limited parking in front or on the street. Yet I've not had a problem so far.

A really unique experience in the Park Road Neighborhood of West Hartford. The coffee is great and the staff is very knowledgeable. What makes it unique is the different ways they brew the coffee and the different blends. I'll leave the way they brew the coffee as a surprise for you when you get there...

I orderd latte with oat milk but it was whole milk latte. Anyway, the coffee taste was poor, way toooooo mild. I was not able to finish it and threw it away. Waste of money and time.

The perfect 16 oz latte to go; it has never needed sugar and it's served at an immediately-drinkable temperature. Unlike chain stores, they don't scald the beans to get quality flavor because J. René buys quality beans in the first place.
I won't comment on 'ambience,' as I drink coffee while I'm running errands; however, the staff are friendly and they keep the shop scrupulously clean.

Coffee was a disappointment. I expect it to be fresh and smooth. I found it acidic. The location is convenient. The venue is wide open and less comfortable than some specialty coffee shops. The servers are friendly and the venue is clean.

Great coffe shop. Coffee is full of flavor. The place offers contemporary style design. Whether you are looking for coffee to go or a place to do your work or share a pot of coffee with a friend...this is it. Beats local chain coffee shops hands down.

One of the best (there are only a few) local roasters near Hartford. Judging only by coffee: the brew, the beans, roast, espresso drinks...it's excellent. I could not care less what the ambience is like, since I am interested in great coffee. This is a coffee roaster - customers looking for wifi, outlets, a quiet place to read should seek out a bookstore. If youre not serious about coffee, roasted and brewed properly, you won't 'get it'...and that's fine, but don't judge an excellent coffee roaster shop for lacking convenient amenities, that's not why it exists. It's like going to a hardware store and complaining that they're failing the community by not offering gelato.

Wonderful coffee here. Amazing atmosphere great for in the go or meet up. Parking can be slightly tricky at times but it is well worth it.

Came back after two years. This place wins in hiring people with poorest customer relations. Coffee is an experience and gets ruined with treating customer with the snobbish attitude. See you in another two years.

Decent yet overpriced coffee but terrible customer service. Sent an e-mail with my concerns yet no reply back. Unfortunately, barista attitude ruins the experience.

Modern coffee shop with excellent iced mocha! Also obsessed with pastry options including that coffee cake! Parking lot can be a bit tricky/awkward; however, it doesn’t detract from the overall cafe experience :).
