G Cafe Bakery Branford

I had a meeting right next door to G Cafe...it was suggested I check it out before I left Branford.
Have to say, very nice! I ordered the avocado toast with mozzarella and tomatos...VERY GOOD. I also bought a fresh loaf of bread to bring home,, now I have to starve myself because I ate the whole thing!!

Ignore stated hours!! If they say 1pm they really mean 12:15..if they say 2 they mean 1:15. Being aware of their practices I called at 12:15 to put in an order only to be put on hold until I actually arrived at 12:20...as I walk in the line was 5 people deep.. much to all of our dismay promptly at 12:30 the kitchen decided to SHUT IT DOWN...mind you this is no Gordon Ramsey stunt...the kitchen obviously calls the shots and turned away at least $80 worth of orders shocking everyone in line...we were simply told "the kitchen shut down and there's nothing we can do"...one of the most bizarre establishments...turning away business.. they must make too much money and not need it.

The best bagel I have ever had!!!! I had the lox, cream cheese, capers, onions with a fried egg on top and an onion bagel. Crispy on the outside but super easy to bite through and soft on the inside.. I can’t wait to go back!

Pricey but WELL WORTH IT! The salmon breakfast sandwich is amazing. The coffee is also super good although a bit on the cold side. The sweet pastries are super good!

We live in town and love being able to walk here and order a fresh loaf of bread, lattes and pastries. Great local spot to pick up some delicious things. I’m a fan of their volkenbrot bread (recommended to me by a nutritionist) and their linzer tarts.

Good products. Nice place. Great experience.

Quaint little cafe, great coffee & bagels. Love relaxing outside at the bistro tables. Highly recommend!!!

I have ordered from here numerous times. The service has never been good however yesterday did it for me. I ordered pick up and stood at register while the servers each waited on other people that came in after me and ignored me standing there. When I asked if someone could help me I was asked to wait.
When I asked if I should stand here or get in the order line for pick up the server told me either way that I just needed to give them a minute. ??? I ordered 2 open face brie sandwiches. I have ordered them in the past. This time the slice of bread was thinner than before with barely and arugula and quite frankly not worth $10. I order for our company. Not going back.
**** update **** ok I went back. New management. Much better than before. I changed the rating.

This local place uses high-quality ingredients, offers a solid selection, and consistently has efficient service. Their menu has plenty of healthy items and plenty of delectable pastries, too. I really enjoy their coffee and iced tea assortment. They offer several vegetarian-friendly options. The cute view of downtown Branford from the windows and the natural light make this an awesome place to read or do some work. Free WiFi.
