G Cafe Bakery Branford

So irritating! Just ordered a panini and chili to go. Got home, and found that the chili was really more of a soup, and the women behind the counter only filled the container halfway. The panini was burnt and very salty. The chili/soup liquid was bitter. I had to spit it out. Good thing I only had half a container...oh wait, never mind, I paid for a full one! Lazy cheap and sloppy execution. Overpriced for the quality.

Very good avocado toast with arugula, the lox and cream cheese was also excellent. A Gem

Very hit or miss depending on the day. Yesterday however, was just awful. I got the avocado toast with poached eggs and bacon. The avocado put on the toast was bruised, brown, and barely there. The eggs were basically hard boiled.
The doughnut my daughter ordered was the worst thing I've tasted in a long time. I was shocked when she said she didn't like it, so I tried it. It tasted like it had been fried in fish fry oil. 🤢

I also ordered the toast with butter and jam. The butter was rock hard, and the jam had a hair in it.

It doesn't help that it was my birthday, so I'm extra salty about it.

I will not be returning.

I bought a dark roast coffee and it was great.

Very cool place! Amazing food and baked goods. Very crowded when we got there on a Sunday morning. That is to be expected. The line moved quickly and we got a table outside. It was nice out there. There is a bathroom a very short walk away. Just ask for the key.

Incredible delicious bread, freshly baked & friendly service! What a treat!

The Josephine loaf is delicious as is their salmon pragel sandwich! I paired the sandwich with an iced coffee and it made for an excellent start to the day! The staff is kind and friendly and the atmosphere is excellent to dine in and enjoy your meal there.

I don’t know what I would do without G cafe- it is a staple in Branford. Their bread is perfection, crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. Their baked goods are outstanding. I highly recommend their pragels, croissants, french toast, carrot cake, cheesecake and coffee. Everything is so good.

Handmade bread was delicious. Worth a visit.
