We stopped into this bookstore and cafe after a long sunny day of skiing at Eldora. My kid deserved a sweet treat and we were drawn in by the large ice cream cone sign displayed out front. What a magical surprise we found when walking inside! It was like opening the door in a hobbit's house. There was a cozy feeling as we looked around at all the books, artistic inspirations, jewelry and more. First we questioned if we were in the right place! And then we saw the ice cream around the corner. There are also coffee drinks available as well as cafe style lunch items. We got our ice cream cones and sat down at their indoor tables to eat them. There was a group of eclectic and artistic individuals sitting next to us who were playing guitar. It was very peaceful and enjoyable! It kept us sitting there longer lingering over the book collection. We found used books that were obviously hand picked and also new publications, too. We found books that were created by small labels with big ideas about meditation, individualism, friendship & remembrance. This was everything we could have hoped for in a true 'Ned' experience over ice cream.

Guy behind the counter today was a real jackass. We left with nothing.

Our go-to stop anytime we are in Nederland. This used book shop also serves coffee and ice cream (among various other treats), and the staff there is great. We almost always come home with new/old books (and a brownie).

First off, Blue Owl Books and Blue Owl Boutique are two separate but related entities - separate entrances, hours, and products, but the same owner. Both are great local spots and worth your time. The book/coffee side is cozy and welcoming with great ice cream and a nice used book selection. The boutique has a really nice eclectic collection of clothing and gifts, but has somewhat more erratic hours. It's worth checking out both if you can.

Quaint, quirky, and weird. Get a shot of espresso and a cone of homemade ice cream while you peruse shelves of your favorite books and crafts by local artisans. Be sure to buy a copy of the unofficial guide to Ned by Geno, and check out the snazzy boutique next door. Above all, this is a place to be kind and unwind.

Small second hand bookstore. Was very pleased with the latte!

I've been to Blue Owl several times, and have always loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. HOWEVER-- my children and I visited it today (Sat, Sept. 15) and we had a horrendous experience. A purple-haired woman who said her name was Lisa, was incredibly rude and disrespectful while we were ordering ice cream. If this were my 1st visit, I wouldn't return. Her nasty attitude would turn me away for good.

the ultimate place to score a great deal says my wife Heather. It reminds me of the boutique in Frank Zappa's 200 motels. And Kimba is still awesome looking for a good book, clothes you won't find anywhere else for a great price, ice cream, Don Pablo's amazing tacos or Jamaican food prepared by an awesome Rastafarian, this is truly the place!

John and Kimba are amazing! Their Poetry Open Mic on the last Sunday of the month is always packed and super fun. The coffee is delicious, the ice cream is delicious and if you can get a slice of Kimba's pie, you just might die of happiness. It's the coziest coffee shop in town. Little nooks for hiding away and writing poetry, or reading. Toasty and cozy. I want to hang out there more often.
