Monk & Mongoose Coffee Co

Reached out via email to the owner about a negative experience. Never heard back, not even with a simple apology. Apparently there is little care for customers from certain employees and ownership. 2 stars, instead of 1, because I did have mostly positive experiences at this coffee shop prior to this incident.

The coffee stands up to its reviews: flavorful and smooth. Seriously smooth. I appreciated the clever marking of saucers with your name and order.
The decor is a sparkling clean combination of quiet charcoal, crisp white, and natural wood. Checkout the wall with a brief history of coffee that inspired the name.
The abundant seating is nicely spaced, reducing the expected noise. I was impressed at how NOT loud the ambient noise was. Whether you prefer a spacious high wooden bar, comfy upholstered furniture, 2 or 4 top tables, or even a conference room, you’ll find it here.
The food offerings are light, both sweet and savory.

I didn't have the same experience at Monk & Mongoose as many other reviewers. I do believe coffeehouses have immense competitiveness and the little things do matter.

I ordered an oat-milk latte and enjoyed their espresso flavor a lot, however, mine didn't have any kind of latte art as many other people's appeared to, but that may have just been luck. Again, this is the smallest of concerns, but when you're paying $8 plus tip for a drink you do start to expect attention to detail like this.

I found the ambiance a little confusing. It was very very busy and loud inside when I went on a weekday, I can't imagine this being a great spot to work or study as even with headphones it was too loud to focus or get stuff done, but this is subjective and I'm sure for some it works for them. The service was okay but I again didn't have the outstanding customer service experience like many other reviewers appear to have had. Parking was full along both cross-streets so I was able to find parking in a retail parking lot about a half-block aways. Ultimately Monk & Mongoose didn't necessarily unimpress me, but with so many great coffeeshops around nothing really stood out.

Sweet Bloom, nice staff, and a great atmosphere. What else do you need?

We were looking for a coffee place near Highlands ranch and came across this one. It is in a funny area, looks more like apartments but Monk and Mongoose has a corner storefront. It was pretty cool, one side of it was open and they had a number of places to sit both indoors and outdoors. It had a good vibe to it. The coffee was excellent, we both had iced americanos. I had to meet someone a couple days later and I came back. Highly recommended.

Busy busy place! It's such a great location, great coffee and a wonderful atmosphere. If you have meetings in the DTC or Lone Tree area, get there early and grab a comfy chair!

A great cozy place to meet your friends or just work on your laptop. With Halloween around the corner, they have some great seasonal coffee. Though a bit expensive as compared to other cafes but this is a Gourmet Coffee place. Plenty of space to sit and ample parking around the place. They also allow the pets inside. Overall, great atmosphere.

This is one of my favorite coffee places in the area. Great tasting coffee (BETTER THAN STARBUCKS!) and the Cafe itself is very relaxing and cozy. The staff are nice as well. Highly recommend it! 👌🏻

Really enjoyed the coffee and facilities. Very light, spacious and excellent innovation with roll up garage doors. Parking was really good, with strip parking outside and additional parking around the side. They have a bookable study/meeting room. Very cool.

This is a great place for craft coffee and a variety of pour overs. The atmosphere is relaxing yet productive and they even have a meeting room that can be rented and used for presentations. The staff are always friendly and enthusiastic.
