Great shop! Vibes are on point. Coffee and Chai game are strong. Everyone is incredibly friendly and even went the extra mile to make sure our coffee grind was ideal for our cold brew. Even have little sticker buddies for your coffee cups 10/10

What a fun place! Whenever I visit a town or city I try to find a local coffee shop to support and this one was a GEM! Super friendly staff, every single one of them we spoke with! It has some cool impulse items to buy which were fun to see and read whille waiting for our coffee. (Great gift ideas!) You can tell that there is alot of time and care put into this place and it shined through from the staff greeting us to the coffee roaster asking if our drinks were to our liking! I got an iced vanilla latte and it its one of the bests i have EVER had. SOOO SOOOOO GOOD!
If you are in Grand Junction visiting, passing through, or are a local this is place well worth the visit!! They also have breakfast items so if your hotel breakfast was lackluster! We shall be back next time we are in the area!

Funky is fine. Down to Earth is a plus. I like Octopuses (and squid too).
So why the 1 Star Review??
Enjoy your freedom by finding better places to go than Octopus Coffee in Grand Junction Colorado. There are many better options that are also near the airport, along Horizon Drive, down 12th Street and also down 7th Street.
4 photos are attached. See how the table was so close to the bench that I had to sit side-saddle because my legs would not fit under the table. I could have rearranged the furniture, but I like to be respectful and experience a vendor’s offering as it is presented.
The photo of the counter shows how cluttered and hectic the Octopus Coffee environment feels. I like color and vitality, but a jumble-tangled mess of stuff leaves us lacking a nice gazing area while talking, sipping and munching. Too cluttered and lacking connection, style or real funkiness. It is also awkward that there is no menu / price board and they make you stare at office-sized paper menus at the register. Now I understand why so many reviewers mention slow lines. From hotel for takeout, ice cubes, vanilla cinnamon rolls, bagel w/ cream cheese, baked goods or a veggie sammie it is not worth the trip.
The coat rack of cosplay-Goth stuff is weird. It is all cheap plastic, a silly version of a viking helmet, a plastic candle, witch’s hat and a mask. Why not spend something and give the guests real vintage / carnival quirky items to view, if that is the decorative angle of owner’s tastes? Odd decor lacking quality and message. Remember, both octopuses and squid are high-traction dressers (lots of suction) so, as you secretly suspect, no self-respecting octopus wants those dumb things.
Our beverages were okay. There is better down the road, every way you turn – there’s the Starbucks on 12th and Patterson too. And those establishments accomplish a true respect to marine life. They don’t abuse the octopus in an attempt to lure unsuspecting citizen-coffee-shop-patrons into anti-octopus activity. Don’t be an easy mark, some suckers are easily baited into this fanciful misrepresentation of the REAL SUCKERS OF THE SEA. Don’t be a dumbo!
Notice in the photos, the cup I was given wore a pink lid and a butterfly adorned heat shield. While I support individual’s use of freedom, pushing lady gear on men is both tacky & cheesy. Coffee outfits that honor preference, rather than weirdly asserting their message both have better style and more effectively represent personal choice. Original funky local coffee shops can be better than the large chain stores, but they need to be safe and clean and funky rather than evil weird.

This might be the best coffee shop ever. The staff have the best personalities, the knick knacks you can buy are hilarious. And the vegan burrito was really good. 10/10 for a coffee shop with a personality.

My boyfriend and I frequently stay at hotels in this area and we always go to Octopus. We’ve never had a bad experience. Loved the pumpkin supreme latte and the caramel white mocha ! Everyone always super friendly!

Drove 18 hours from Chicago to get married out here, and will be driving back, just for coffee and a burrito at this place. Amazing. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Staff is so chipper and friendly, food is outstanding, coffee that will bring a tear to your eye. Love it all. Wish we had something like this back home.

Octopus coffee is simple the best. In you're in and around the junction area you have to stop by. The coffee, the baked good, the sandwiches. My oh my! The strawberry oat bar was soo good I didn't even believe my own taste buds. Try it and you'll see!

Great drinks. Subpar food. The bacon lover sandwich had at most one slice of bacon (probably just half a slice) and was almost flavorless. The veggie burrito had a really great flavor in cream cheese but everything else in the burrito was bland and dry.

Unreal coffee and pastries with absolutely unreal workers. Immediately upon walking in, they’ll have you stoked to be there, and laughing and cussing in good fun. The latte was, I sh*t you not, the best latte i’ve ever had in my life. My man pulled a god shot just for me. And the banana bread?? Don’t tell my mom I said this, but it was better than hers. AND it came grilled AND buttered for no extra charge. This spot is absolutely b*tchin. I will be driving all the way back to GJ just for this coffee.

Great little breakfast place with a superb staff. I had the burrito that had sausage and potatoes and loved it. My wife's oatmeal was delicious and had a good amount of add-ins. She said the coffee was great too. (So good we went back a second time to get her a coffee as we were leaving town)
