Excellent coffee. The bakery was really good- nice crunchy scones. Open and airy inside and nice outside tables. Traffic a bit noisy, but hey, it's downtown Santa Barbara.

This is an absolute must visit when in town! The nitro cold brew is absolutely phenomenal and the staff here are very friendly!

Nice, good coffee and the outdoor seating is quite good.
We've stayed here for work and didn't regret it.
However, we were a little bit disappointed that we couldn't charge our batteries.

We walked by the Santa Barbara roasting company we decided to have an Americano. Americano was very watered down, no coffee taste. Liked the atmosphere and the fact they roast the beans right in front of you.

I've visited this coffee shop many times through the years and always enjoyed the experience.

Santa Barbara Roasting Company is a local institution. Known as “RoCo” to its patrons, this is the ultimate slacker café. It’s a homey, open space decorated with whimsical murals. Many a wizened old-timer sits at its tables, reading dog-eared books and debating politics with friends. Unfortunately the “slacker” label also applies to the staff. Service is stunningly slow. Recently I waited 9 minutes for my espresso, with only one other customer waiting for a coffee. Apparently the staff is more in interested in their ongoing conversations than in providing service. When I tried to approach one for the obvious purpose of complaining, she fled with a sneer on her lips. Coffee is old style, roasted in house with many possible selections. Typically the minimal pastries and food runs out long before the day’s end. A sign posted near the register, which says pastries are half off after 4, is always ignored.

This would have been a 5 star review if it weren't for the non-existent service I received. I walk into the cafe and the lady at the front register said absolutely nothing: no "hello" , "welcome", "how are you doing", nothing. No emotion whatsoever. I've never experienced this at a cafe before in the SB area. Not sure if they were having a bad day or whatever, but you should at least acknowledge your paying customers. The coffee was great as usual and I appreciate the free refill(s) for up to an hour after ordering. The coffee alone propped this review up to 3 stars. I will be returning a couple more times before updating my review (depending on if the service improves).
