I've been here a couple of times and really love their coffee. I've had the regular Latte and Spanish Latte. If you don't like your lattes too sweet, ask for half sweetness on the Spanish Latte. It's very good and not too sweet.

By far best latte artist I've ever seen! I'm not from the area but if I ever go back I will definitely check out this place again. The barista was knowledgeable and answered the questions I had specifically about the lactose free options.

This was my first place, something new to try. Its warm and quiet great place to go on your laptop or sit and relax with one or two friends. I tried the caramel frappe added with an espresso shot. Its pretty good. I would come back again. I want to try their ice lattes.

I used to go here a few years ago and the coffee was good. During my last visit the coffee was awful (very bitter, with burnt taste). Also, they have a restroom but they don't let their customers use it.

This local coffee shop is a gem. Not only is the coffee and variety of drinks great quality and taste amazing, but the thought that goes into the owner’s craft of this store is inspiring and just what you’d want out of a coffee shop. The food and pastries are also a win — the croissants are my favorite!

Visiting San Jose for TwitchCon and needed a place close by for coffee and breakfast. I'm a Starbucks barista, so I deliberately avoided the bux...and stumbled into Voltaire Coffee House instead! Best choice I've made all weekend. Everyone who works here is insanely kind, the bagels are great, the drinks are delicious, and every latte is handed off with some really stunning latte art! Not to mention everything is nicely priced, so you aren't paying an arm and a leg for anything.
Stopping by here every morning is genuinely the highlight of my day.

The cafe was closing upon my arrival due to a building water shut down but they served me a great cold brew (as these are brewed in advance) as well as a delicious, hot buttery croissant. The staff was very friendly and they accept Apple/Google pay. I will be back again soon!

Voltaire has a modern, office-building style feel with tall windows and lots of natural lighting. Here, they offer (specialty) coffee at a steeper price-point..which makes me a bit hesitant to frequent here.
Still, for our first visit here, we ended up getting some coffee to share over a room-temperature liege waffle -- and then more coffee to-go afterwards...
Food & Drinks:
- Iced Americano: Flavorful, non-bitter taste. Iced. Pretty good! Could still taste the coffee flavor over ice.
- Matcha latte: This really hit the spot! I love anything matcha, and despite being mixed with milk, there were still hints of matcha flavor -- a perfect blend of both milk + matcha flavors.
- Cold Brews: On the way out we decided to grab coffee to-go, it was an opportunity to try out some more of their coffee. These were iced, and the list of cold brew using different beans varied in price tag. The two flavors we got were distinct in its own flavors, and surpassed my expectations of the cold brews I'm used to getting from chain coffee shops.
- Liege Waffle: Wow, this was disappointing. Small in size, room-temperature, stale texture... There wasn't really anything special about this at all. It's entirely hype! Save your money. I wasn't even offered a plate. Don't get me wrong, it tasted "good," but it's not as good as it looks, nor does it meet up to any sort of expectations.
Service:
- Pretty good, though I've had better service elsewhere. The staff behind the counter wasn't all that warm, and I can't even really remember if she offered help with the menu.
Environment: Clean, empty, quiet, modern.
Final thoughts: Would be back... rarely. Good coffee, but still overpriced despite being "specialty." Liege waffle not worth the money.

Small but decent place for coffee and working.
Not a big fan of savory items but the cookies are good.
