Unfortunately I must edit my 5 star rating to be much less after the change in ownership. The changes made to the restaurant have reduced its quality severely. The best I can say is that it is edible, mostly, but the food is no longer the amazing experience it used to be. There are many crucial mistakes and odd changes that I could detail, but the saddest I experienced was the artichoke dip. Having made this myself when I worked there, I know for a fact it is not the same. As far as I can tell, it is just premade alfredo sauce with artichokes hearts and spinach added. A little bit of pizza cheese then gets sprinkled on top, and then it is MICROWAVED, despite being called "broiled" on the menu. It is not a significant increase in effort to put it in the pizza oven, I don't know why they changed it. Again, it's edible, but most people don't go to a restaurant to eat food they could prepare and microwave themselves.
I feel terrible for the wait staff, as they are all seemingly young kids with no direction from management, though they are doing their best and try to be as attentive as possible. They have no instruction on how to serve alcohol, or wrong instruction. I've received both the wrong wine (pinot noir vs pinot grigio, etc) and underfilled pints (ending up more like 12 ounces).
The pizza is also extremely disappointing. For some reason, they place the sauce, then the smallest ingredients first (which is incorrect), ending with the largest, and THEN the cheese? The House Special we had last night (not pictured, but the one pictured is similar) was a crust of crunchy cheese and pepperoni, that you could lift to find raw onions, olives, and barely heated through sausage crumbles. This results in the dough being undercooked and raw, and the liquid from the sauce and onions dripping through the pizza onto the plate, soaking it through.
The fried food on the menu is also unnecessary and cheap - not good or needed. Our marinara was spoiled (carbonated). Nothing seems homemade anymore.
It's especially sad, because to make Moon's succeed after buying it, all you had to do was not change a thing. It was perfect, and well know for it. It is nowhere anywhere near the monument of quality it used to be. I will not be giving it another chance.
We had grilled salmon and mediterranean salad. The salmon came fish a side of chowder. Everything was delicious. Don’t get fooled by the looks of this restaurant, the food is great and service too.
I called and ordered, it's supposed to be a pepperoni and sausage pizza. I also ordered bread sticks . I got garlic bread which was pretty good. They seemed to have a problem with their oven, so I ended up waiting about an hour for the pizza. It wasn't bad it just tasted more like lasagna than pizza. The staff were ok, I was initially ignored for about 10 mins by all 4 of them.
From what I understand this restaurant was quite nice and high quality at one point however approximately a year ago I had the unfortunate pleasure of dining here from what I understand it was sold to someone who remained it as a restaurant shortly before I ate here we had went there for my mother's birthday we ordered rib steaks and my boyfriend had ordered spaghetti and meatballs the steaks were cooked nicely and rare as they should have been to order however the mashed potatoes were ice cold and from the previous day my boyfriend's meatballs were completely Frozen not even warm when we sent it back to the kitchen instead of replacing the mashed potatoes or simply microwaving the potatoes alone which in my experience and microwave has no place in a professional kitchen whatsoever the cook microwaved the entire plate decimating the steak into a piece of gray rubber my brother's steak was nothing but fat and Gristle I don't know where these people are getting their products from or who's cooking but I highly do not recommend these people as a place to eat
Delicious food!! Classy place. I had the Alfredo baked potato and it was soo good!! I also got 3 meals from it. My hubby had pasta (soo good but firgot the name), he got two meals from his.
I got a take-out pizza and garlic bread from here, the pizza is excellent (the plumas) and the garlic bread is good.
I didn't spend much time in the restaurant since I got take-out, but the atmosphere seemed really nice, an upscale homey eclectric country feel (that liked pretense) that instantly felt welcoming while nice enough for an anniversary dinner. The staff we attentive and efficient.
Over all an appealing place with good food. Wish it was open more days, since I only stayed in quincy for a few days for work
Moon's offers a cozy atmosphere in a beautiful setting. My meal was delicious and a generous portion. Our waitor provided great service for our table of 6, better than many big city restaurants I've been to. I love Quincy and it's lucky to have Moon's!
I've been travelling around California for 3 weeks and the pasta tonight was the best I've had. Rivalled a pasta I had in Italy a few years ago which was my fav meal ever. Fast, friendly service too. Can't vouch for anywhere else in town but can definitely recommend here.
Had a nice white wine. Brie in the Garlic and Brie appetizer still had the label for the cheese on it hidden under it. Tamale appetizer was almost inedibly tough and dry. Caprese appetizer was poorly made especially the balsamic dressing. I don't recommend this restaurant. Tries to pass itself off as high end, including prices, definitely not worth it. Request an outside table, they said short wait while they prepped it, then they seated a party that arrived after us at that table and told us our only seating option was an uncomfortable inside table next to a large party. I will not go to this unfortunately sub-standard restaurant again unless there is a change of management.

They've really worked hard to update both appearance and menu. If you haven't been there in a while, go on back and have a great dinner!
