As soon as you walk in to Varraco Coffee Roasters, you feel like you’re in a coffee shop you’d find in Seattle or San Francisco. The aesthetic is effortlessly cool, urban and minimal. Everyone who works at Varraco is pleasant, knowledgeable and welcoming. It’s easy to cozy up, kick back and have great conversations at this little shop.
What I love most about Varraco is the tangible passion the owners have for art and craftsmanship to make a great cup of coffee. They source their beans personally from the Philippines and roast in house. They stay true to honoring their roots while adding a modern approach to their selection of coffee and pastries.
Varraco is not a traditional, trendy coffee shop, it’s more than that. They provide an authentic experience into the Filipino culture. Their story and passion is what drew me in and their fantastic coffee is what keeps me coming back from more. I’m personally addicted to their brown sugar latte.
I saw reviews discussing price, however a portion of the sales go back to the farmers who provide the coffee beans. So I gladly spend a few extra dollars supporting a business that supports their community, staff and farmers.
Needless to say, Varraco is exactly what this desert needed: an effortlessly cool coffee shop with artfully crafted coffee.

Wow! What a unique and pleasant coffee experience… we had the Ube and the Pandan latte and they were amazing… the coffee is very smooth, no bitterness and very vibrant…. Really enjoyed the flavor… we also tried a Ube Bibingka and it was delicious… the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and I can see this place getting very busy for people who like great coffee…. Looking forward to going back

I was curious to try out this new Filipino coffee place that just opened up and I was not disappointed. It's really nice to see kababayan (fellow Filipino) businesses in the valley. I got the Varraco Latte with Oat Milk and the Milo Ensaymada. They don't add any sweetener to the coffee so I just added one brown cane sugar packet from there. The espresso in the latte was pretty strong and rich to me, overall really good. It was strong but not bitter or watered down, I can't pinpoint how to describe it exactly but flavor really shines through. Their Milo Ensaymada was chocolate-y, light, and fluffy. I liked it and hope to try the rest of their pastries.
Normally $6-$7 for coffee is pretty expensive for me, but I appreciate how they source coffee beans directly from small farmers in the Philippines so I understand that. I'm happy to support both small businesses and farmers internationally. The owner and barista who served me were very sweet. Will come back here again :) Maraming salamat!

We were trying a new coffee place, and I was excited to try it however, they had different flavored syrups I've never heard of, and there was no brief description of what they were to people unfamiliar with them. I had to make a quick decision since there was a line so I ordered a simple vanilla latte. Also, they don't have a visual of what other flavor syrups they offered, prices were high for a pour-over and an iced vanilla latte and my husband pour over wasn't filled to the top hence the four stars I gave them which would've been a 5 star since my husband loved the flavor of the pour-over and so did I.

Really good quality coffee. I noticed that it was a Filipino owned coffee shop and they have pandan and ube flavored lattes (which I'll have to try next time, if there is a next time). I ended up getting an iced latte with oat milk. I gave it 3 stars because I thought the price was TOO high for a plain iced latte: $7 + oatmilk($1.25) so it came out to be an $8.25 cup of coffee. I would say, charge less for the oatmilk, or less on the latte price, and maybe there will be a bit more happier customers. And yes, a dollar makes a big difference.
BUT, in the end, I do believe it was delicious and flavorful.

Their tagline is “wildly good coffee” but I would suggest “wildly expensive coffee” is more appropriate. The coffee is good, but nothing in particular to warrant the price. They also aren’t particularly friendly.
They’ve got some unique drinks and pastries that might be good. What we just prefer unflavored coffee drinks.

The beef emanada was a surprise. It's crack...
I asked the batista to surprise me with my coffee (I've never had terrible coffee, so what's the worst that could happen) and he prepared me a hot Ube Coffee. DELICIOUS!
And watching the care and love he prepared everyone's coffee with... was a pleasure.
Come here! The vibe is awesome.
Update: without fail, no matter how much I prepare myself, I have to race home to poop. The coffee is THAT good.

So if you're into coffee and want to try something different...come here.
Think... pumpkin direction but the flavor pulls towards a yam/puree (amongst other flavors). The coffee beans are also different to the American/Italian/Columbian that's so common. The pastries are also good.
Bottom line is, I don't want to hype it up too much (despite my rating) and mislead people but if you are into good well crafted lattes, this is worth a look. It is slightly different to the cafes that focus on hazelnut, mocha, and vanilla lattes but once you are here, it will make sense.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

It’s about time PD gets an authentic roaster in town but they haven’t quite earned it yet.
To give some context here, I’ve lived in SF and went through the myriad of craft coffee in the city.m and they are in a high rent district. I just can’t justify the pricing of Verraco. $5 Americanos and $6 Lattes are just far beyond the Main and Main pricing they are trying to push. Sorry just avoid it, or drive your Tesla to 6th St in Coachella which is far cheaper and better coffee.
It’s decent coffee but I’ll go next door to the Bike shop. I just can’t justify using inflation as a excuse to over charge.

Love supporting small businesses...and this is a cool coffee place that needs to be on your radar when in the desert/Palm Desert/Coachella Valley ... If you like coffee check this place out. Recently opened in November 2022 (last month), very cool modern vibe going, has seatings indoor and outdoor. They roast their own coffee y'all .. and yes the beans are from the Philippines. Love the smooth flavor.
The owners/business partners are very friendly local Filipinos. So they serve pastries with a Filipino twist to them. Highly recommended, so please support local small businesses.
(I only give them a 4-star as I wish they also serve regular pastries).
