Preservation Coffee & Tea

Such a welcoming place. Staff was very friendly and helpful! They also have a couple of 100% vegan pastrie options which is awesome and they offer a milk alternative. Coffee was great! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out.

One of the only coffee shops in a pretty large radius that takes their coffee seriously. (50 miles?) Coffee from great roasters, solid baristas, cool independent atmosphere. If you like serious coffee, this place is must.

So my buddies had been ranting and raving about the French press here so I decided I had to check it out. Well when I got there, there was none! The only newspaper they had was the Modesto View. I thumbed through that and found not a single word of French. There wasn't even an article about France or a French author. Even the artist of the month was some crazy British photographer. Boy was I mad. But then I had the best cup of coffee in my life. So I guess it was pretty good.

Great coffee & service. Plus they ad- for art &have some goodies to eat- in the line of cookie type assortment.
Have a few options on coffee. Have shirts- sweaters &hoodies for sale.
Also cups &cold I think coffee or? Makers for sale. Outside inside upstairs seating plus electric to plug in upstairs. Restroom downstairs for customers.

If you're into coffee and you're in Modesto, you're not going to find anything better anywhere near. Seeded by the greatness that was Serrano's Social Club, Preservation does a good job keeping the flame alive. Don't come in expecting Starbucks like milkshake desert drinks named with made up words. Just delicious coffee and espresso drinks made from fresh roasted beans.

Really like the Tea they made me to help my cough, not sure what it was but it helped! My buddies coffee had a really rad design on it and the atmosphere was great! Really liked the employees too. Super nice.

Delicious and high quality coffee beans! Their whale logo is super cute. Wish they would give you a lower fat option than Whole Milk.

The only thing keeping this place from being a five star establishment is that the people who run it are smart and work hard, but are inexperienced. Creating a vibe is part of the coffee shop experience and the feeling that once lived there left with the previous owner. They seem to be trying to keep everything the same, and it can't work... so it makes going there less welcoming and fun. Hope they find their voices and swing the vibes to their own tune, because the coffee is GREAT... barring the very occasional bad call by a barista.

I love this place! They have great coffee and tea. The service is wonderful and the people are friendly. They offer a freshly made gluten free pastries which is a huge plus.

Best coffee you can find downtown Modesto. A small hole in the wall but cozy. Club House Mocha is my favorite drink by far.
