Good strong coffee. Not many flavors, so this was more up my husband's alley. He likes it black. Parking was quite hard, almost to the point we were going to give up and go somewhere else.

One of my favorite cafes in LA. An outdoor sitting area loaded with plants, super friendly staff, and of course verve quality coffee.

Great design and decor. Plants and lights outside.
The plants and weather had a ton of flies outside today around 5pm.

I love this place and the coffee is great, but they definitely need to work on their attitude, sometimes you get a great barista and sometimes they are not in the mood of been the most helpful.

~masked amongst the trauma~
in 2017 i had relocated to los angeles and over the course of several months, as many do, i struggled to find personally honorable employment and/or housing
during those months i'd make visits throughout each week to this downtown verve coffee location to enjoy some well-made espresso drinks and try different brews. i can recall times where the barista was unhappy with their outcome and asked me to observe patience as they made me something worthwhile. i truly appreciate that.
also the staff was kind and made verbal connections with me and kept up with my journey. without income and having a working background in cafe and coffee, amongst other liquids, i inquired about employment with the store and although they were solidly staffed the manager kept up with me on my journey and gave me suggestions when she had them.
after those several months, as many do, the struggle set me on a lane out of los angeles and over the rainbow . . . . i really block a lot of that time out.
i dont remember what jogged this blessing of a memory but
better late than never, right?

Nor Cal Light Roast coffee place. Okay for pour overs with milk and sugar. Europeans stay away from any expresso shots or you will be sorry.

Actually pretty good. I used to frequent before it became the hipster, “cool” place to be seen.

This Santa Cruz transplant is killing the game in downtown LA. They have increasingly focused on juice, but even still the espresso is on point. The coolest thing that separates verve to me? The availability of very small batches of freshly roasted coffee. Clutch.

Beautiful café in Downtown LA. I think it served as a location for the Netflix series Love :)
The coffee is intense and flavourful. You can also buy freshly roasted coffee [I tried to buy the same blend I had with my flat white but the staffer explained to me that the mix put together was a secret blend and when I asked to grind a package for an Aeropress he didn’t know what was that, even though they sold them at the shop, so in case you want to buy the same, just say it’s for drip coffee :) ]
