Wonderful barista and down to earth vibe. Nice for creatives to work and amazing food menu. The pastry from bread kneaded is amazing // get the everything croissant & matcha scone.

Some of the most delicious breakfast food you can find. Best avocado toast I’ve ever had, unbelievably tasty French toast, and anything with their milk bread is wonderful.

Last week, I got a coffee from this place as I have been for the past two years. Unfortunately I will not be returning because the business is located in a strip mall that is controlled by a racist parking manager. I was sitting in my car for 20 mins after getting my coffee because I had to take a call. There is always ample parking throughout the day and zero signage indicating parking time limits. A petite woman comes out to order me to leave once my call is done. I inform her I purchased a drink then she returns 20 mins later and again orders me to leave except this time she follows me to the chimney cafe to ensure I buy more food which I planned to do anyways. I alerted Chimney cafe via Instagram as this type of treatment of their customers is not excusable. This racial harassment or policing of brown people is inexcusable - which I pointed out to the two male security guards who claim they will look into the situation. If you are brown I don’t recommend this establishment at all. Spend your hard earned monies elsewhere .

Great food, great coffee! The tables are spacious enough to work at, and the place is big + not crowded at all! I’d recommend the candied bae!

Speaking as a seasoned coffee dude, I like this café. The music is not too loud. The food looks and smells incredible (though I haven't tried it) My Chai tastes great, not too sweet like the more widespread coffee chains. Also, this place has available outlets which is a +++ anywhere near DTLA. Recommend.

“I won't eat in a restaurant with filthy bathrooms. This isn't a hard call. They let you see the bathrooms. If the restaurant can't be bothered to replace the puck in the urinal or keep the toilets and floors clean, then just imagine what their refrigeration and work spaces look like.” -Anthony Bourdain
I want to like this place: ample parking, nice layout, friendly service, and great coffee (Kyoto ftw). All that said, the bathrooms are gross. I've been here three times and every time they're disgusting. The final straw was when I saw someone laid a deuce in the toilet and it was clear no one had been in to clean up. It's cool. I can get my coffee somewhere else.

Tried only three pancake stack and brewed coffee. Pancakes (3) served with chopped pecans, fruit, and whipped cream were superb. The Ethiopian coffee, which they roast in-house, was very good. My son has one of their breakfast sandwiches and loved it. His cappuccino was also very good. Overall, a delicious experience. Ambience: mostly concrete, high ceiling, no-frills atmosphere, industrial, kind of funky. Service was good with helpful advice. Prices might be a dollar or two lower but probably are consistent with the marketplace. Out of the way neighborhood. Beats Starbucks by a mile. Almost 5 stars. At the very least, worth checking out and, I'd guess, you'll like it.

For a good coffee, this is a great place. We loved everything about this place! The coffee was excellent, and the pastries were fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the water they carried with our order, as well. They sure know their work, and they know what they are serving. The workers are really polite and supportive.

Got there early and just went there because I was in the area and looked up breakfast. Ordered the B.A.E. sandwich with breakfast potatoes and it was not good. I finished the sandwich because I was hungry but the potatoes were over done and had no taste. The bacon on the sandwich was over done and tasted like the fake stuff for salads. Barely any flavor other than the egg which was okay. The cold brew was bitter. The cashier and other lady were friendly and place was clean and nice.

My group ordered the breakfast burrito, in which the tortilla was made from a pancake! I drooled looking at it.
A waffle platter with potato. T y e waffles where yummo. Tne potatoes where a bit much. Whole potato broken amd deep fried. Crunchy, good but a lot.
The French toast was delicious to the last bite!
I had the matcha latte. Rich amd creamy. I recommend it.
We definetely enjoyed the french toast and the burrito the most.
