The whole beans to take home are amazing here. Good variety and good roasts. However their prepared drinks are a bit too sweet and all fancy/unique. So it’s good if you like that kind of thing. The atmosphere of the shop itself to me seemed best suited for older Belmont-shore types and if you aren’t from that crowd it can make you feel a bit out of place. Overall it’s a good location & service was great, but more of a frills and thrills type of place. If you’re looking for just a good cup of coffee, this isn’t the best spot in my opinion.

We LOVE Moon Mountain Coffee! The owners are there daily and make everyone feel like family. The Morning Happy Hour (50cents coffee) brings in a crowd, so be patient and mindful that the Barista is doing it all herself. Every cup of coffee is delicious, whether it's black or a specialized drink. Seating is available inside and outside. Enjoy!!

Not a block from Starbucks, I though I should support small business and stopped instead at Moon Mountain Coffee. I asked for a small, decaf coffee from a female employee and was promptly given a cup with a lid. Regrettably, I assumed it to be very hot and did not attempt to sip it until I had walked a long city block.
Phooey! TEPID at best! I would definitely have walked it back but my meter was running out and I just threw the contents of my cup in the gutter and the cup itself in the trash can. Next time, reliable and consistent Starbucks!

I came in and stood there without acknowledgement even though there was no other customers around. The woman behind the counter finally asked if i knew what i wanted and I asked about the different coffee’s and she seemed so annoyed I asked anything. She was being so rude. I wanted to know what the most popular thing or any recommendations and she was no help. There was nobody else there so i didn’t understand. I hate making things about race but as she was making the coffees two white woman came in, they were treated so nicely. She was friendly and even told them about their most popular coffees. Sadly sometimes it’s your own people. I will not be coming back here. Also the coffee was mediocre at best.

Staff is pretty stand offish. This was my second time going. Coffee isn’t that bad. 2x what you’d pay at Starbucks. Definitely a “you can’t sit with us vibe”. Back to Starbucks I go.

Edit/Update since I can’t respond:
Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the in depth explanation. Can’t imagine what your family has gone through, and won’t try to. All very sad, and unfortunate. Might I suggest instead of pulling at the heart strings of customers to offer a welcoming experience at your business? That’s why I stopped at your shop to begin with. All of what you said is a great cause. However, no matter how good your endeavors may be, if the face representing your business off puts/ostracizes customers what’s the point? As a customer do I want to do something good for your industry and have a horrible experience doing it? Absolutely not. Wish you all the best on 2nd St.

One of the most delicious iced chai tea lattes I've ever had! I am a connoisseur if there is such a thing. :-). They made it hot first but we're so kind to change it iced, and it was heavenly! I also got a key lime pastry that was delectable. It was perfect. Excited to go back!

I've been coming here since they opened, but I will not be back again. I suggest you go somewhere else too. I was in there today, and a mentally ill woman came in to order a coffee. The young girl working the counter, and wearing a face mask, so even more delusional than the mentally ill woman, wouldn't serve the elderly sick woman because of her "attitude" and "tone" of voice. I will never support any business that hires people who think they're better than their customers. This young girl was more interested in being right and powerful than being of service to a person who needs it.

I walked in right at 5 and they were still nice enough to get me a Vietnamese Iced Latte. Staff is always friendly and coffee is delicious. So much better than Starbucks.

I came here for the first time the other day and was greeted by the owner, James. He is one of the most genuine business owners and I loved hearing about how he started everything! He even made all the countertops and tables by himself - As a designer, I was impressed by the craftsmanship and dedication that he put into his small business. Not only that, but his coffee is so good and unique (I got the one with dates in it and it was delicious!). Can't wait to come more often for yummy coffee and to say hi to our fellow business owner!

Coffee is good. The barista was lazy. I stopped in because it was small business. Will not be back.
