I am already a regular at this spot because it usually pulls the best espresso in JT, and I love it with their sausage rolls in the morning. But I wanted to post here to give recognition to their catering that was absolutely delicious and a huge hit for a workshop of 20-25 people that was being hosted nearby.
They pulled together a really great vegan and vegetarian selection together with like maybe a weeks notice (my original catering option ran into issues). Not only did we get a solid selection of sammys, but their sides are to die for. The favorites of the group were the couscous and pumpkin bars for sure, but everything dissapeared quickly. It was nice to not have to worry about what to do with leftovers. After a long morning of sitting in a classroom, going for hikes and using their brains the workshop attendees and myself were extremely pleased with the unique, tasty, and thoughtful options the Dez hooked us up with for lunch. On top of that they were extremely friendly, super easy to communicate with, and more flexible than I could have asked for. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Fresh and delicious sandwiches, a nice assortment of snacks and treats to grab on the way out! Great staff, great service!

High quality food, fast. The line may look a little long, but it moves fast.

Decent enough food but be prepared for an absurdly long wait. This place markets itself as quick grab n go style but it’s impossibly slow for really no reason. Not worth it.

Tiny shop is tiny, service is extremely slow. Panini sandwich is ok, nothing special. Does not worth waiting 30+ minutes for a sandwich and a coffee.

Stopped by for the first time today to grab food for a picnic with a friend. Only two people are allowed inside at once so expect a queue (coupled with an average 10+ minute wait) just to order. We finally got inside and ordered food and drinks and was told our order would be ready in 10 minutes or so. In the meantime, my friend received her latte -- 10 minutes later we received our order. Here's where things went south: I asked for the drink I ordered and it turns out they never made it and "forgot" but still was able to prepare my friend's drink without an issue. They finally made my drink and we left, only to get to our picnic location and realized we didn't receive everything we ordered, which resulted in us having to go BACK to find out what happened. Once again, I had to wait in a line just to get inside and ask about the missing items in our order. To which I was completely shut down by one of the staff members who said I had never ordered the missing items and that I must be mistaken. I told her I clearly remembered what I had ordered and began to rattle off everything else in the order, since they never provided us with a receipt. They suddenly materialized one and claimed the missing items were never included in the order and asked if I wanted to order them then. i said no and walked out. Between the wait, the staff forgetting my order once, then messing up the order a second time and gaslighting me about it when we came back to sort it out, was enough for me to never go back. If you're visiting Joshua Tree and want great food from nice people who won't gaslight you into oblivion when THEY make a mistake, check out Crossroads Cafe instead.

A good, nutritious, real food takeout counter order option in JT Village. The staff is always happy to see you and they're always nice to my kiddos (my kids love to get sandwiches there). Grab and go stuff in the cooler, I often opt for the buddah bowls, their matcha tea is very good too. If you want some good real food, go to the Dez!

We wanted to try this place out and went only to see it was closed early for the day, BUT a friendly lady (whom I believe might be the owner) was sweet enough to let us in and buy from their pre-made selection. Loved how friendly she was with my kids and how welcomed she made us all feel. The store is cute and had many things to choose from. I definitely wanna stop by again sometime to snatch a Buddha bowl (review pics made them look delish) :] Love great customer service !! 😋

Fine food from two of the Hi Desert’s finest food Pros! So many amazing options to choose from in this small wonder of a shop. Loved the croissants and cinnamon rolls for breakfast one day. Another evening’s dinner (paninis, salmon buddha bowl and a wrapped sausage) was a hit with my kids, too. Lemon meringue pie was phenomenal! My wife is an expert baker and she had very high praise for this treat.
It’s a small space and I appreciate that they are covid-smart. Worth the wait if it’s busy here.
